Six Fisipol Students Won Medals at the 36th PIMNAS in the Field of Humanities Research and Community Service

Yogyakarta, December 24th 2023─Six Fisipol students managed to contribute 4 medals in the 36th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) which took place at Padjadjaran University, Bandung. The six students who are divided into three teams are Jatayu Bias Cakrawala (Communication Science 2021), Trixi Karinina Dewi Sindhutomo (Public Policy Management 2022), Fachrurizal Mahendra Sujono (Social Development and Welfare 2020), Fadil Putra Pratama (Sociology 2020), Nadadistya Fourysa Iksani Putri (Social Development and Welfare 2020), and Nayla Dhiyaa Izzati (Public Policy Management 2021). read more

KAGAMA of the Department of Communication Class ‘98 Holds Nostalgic Reunion for Reminiscing Their Togetherness in the Past

Yogyakarta, December 18th 2023─The synergy and solidarity of the Keluarga Fisipol Gadjah Mada is unquestionable. Even years after graduation, the alumni always take the time to attend every campus occasion. This time, KAGAMA of the Department of Communication Studies ‘98 gathered to reunite in the Reunion of Communication Alumni ‘98 at Digilib Cafe Fisipol UGM on Saturday (16/12).

Reminiscing about your time on campus is one of the most awaited moments during a reunion. Moreover, compared to the current atmosphere, 20 years ago, UGM was certainly different. Oki, as the Chairperson of the Reunion Committee, said he was happy to reunite with his Communication ‘98 friends. “It is great to be together again. I would like to thank my friends for taking the time to attend in the midst of their busy schedules. Fighting Misinformation in the Digital World, Fisipol x Tirto.id Collaboration Launches Inception Program

Yogyakarta, December 15th 2023─In the midst of the post-truth era and misinformation that is increasingly widespread, especially welcoming the 2024 elections, Fisipol UGM collaborates with Tirto.id to launch the Inception program. In this activity, there was also a signing of cooperation between Fisipol and Tirto.id as well as a public discussion with the theme “Digital Literacy Towards Quality Journalism” on Friday (15/12) in the East Seminar Room of Fisipol. Election Corner Holds A Training Ahead of 2024 Elections

Yogyakarta, December 7th 2023Election Corner in collaboration with the Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem) and PolGov has held a limited training event entitled “Training on Involving Youth Participation in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections” on December 6th to 7th 2023. The purpose of this training is to increase the understanding and capacity of students at UGM on the duties and authority of organizing elections. Ajisaka 2024 Ready to Fight, Advocating for Young Generation Advocacy in the Digital Media Era on Nature Conservation Issues

Yogyakarta, December 1st 2023─Ajisaka 2024 held a pre-event Janamejaya with a movie screening and interactive discussion entitled “Nature Conservation: Empowering Youth Advocacy through Digital Media Creation” on Friday (01/12). On this occasion, a documentary film titled “Tanah Moyangku” by Watchdoc was premiered offline at the FISIPOL Auditorium on the 4th floor. The film is a discussion starter about human neglect of Indonesia’s nature and how the youth advocacy movement and digital media can be sustainable in addressing nature conservation issues. Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM Wins Award for Outstanding UGM Personnel of the Year 2023 in Collaborative Research Category

Yogyakarta, November 27th 2023─Perseverance and commitment in building academic collaboration brought the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, S.IP., MPA to receive an award in the Collaborative Research Category of the Soshum Cluster 2023. The appreciation was given at the Awarding Night for Outstanding UGM Personnel in 2023 on Wednesday (11/15).

The UGM Achievement Award Night is an annual event organized to give appreciation to alumni, lecturers, education staff, and students. Various categories for the four clusters, namely science and technology, social science, agrocomplex, and health are given to selected academicians who have produced their best work. This year, Dr. Wawan won the award with a research work entitled “Morality Policies and the Prospect for Inclusive Citizenship in Decentralized Indonesia: A Study of West Java”. More Homework to Achieve Inclusive Disability Representation in the Media

Yogyakarta, November 22nd 2023─The media plays a central role in influencing and shaping people’s perceptions of the world and the things in it. Therefore, it is important for the media to provide a fair and inclusive representation of various issues and parties, including disability issues. Responding to the importance of discussing media issues and their relation to disability issues, the topic was also raised in one of the panel sessions of the International Conference on Disability Rights (ICDR) held on Wednesday (22/11) at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM.
