for the 2018 Annual Conference of the Asian Association

for Public Administration (AAPA)

Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia on March 22-23, 2018

At 4th Floor Convention Room Fisipol UGM

The 2018 AAPA Annual Conference will be jointly hosted by the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN, Lembaga Administrasi Negara), the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA), and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemen PAN RB).

Main Theme: Reinventing Public Administration in a Globalized World: A Non-Western Perspective

The role of public administration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is very important. There are many issues that have to be addressed to increase the quality of life  in developing countries as targeted by SDGs: poverty and hunger, climate change, energy, consumption, marine resources, inequality, economic growth, ecosystems and environment, peace and justice, human settlements, water management, education for sustainable development and lifelong learning, food security, gender equality, industrial sustainability, good health and inclusive well-being, accountable and inclusive institutions, and the global partnership for sustainable development.

Related to these issues, questions may be raised on how effective the role of public administration is in each country in coping with the above problems. Most developing countries usually adopt a model of public administration from other developed countries. The way of managing development and public services has been based on a bureaucratic model adopted from western countries. In this conference, we will explore the other perspective of public administration by focusing on non-western perspectives.

2) Exploring New Research Methods for Public Administration: beyond positivism

3) Culture (Ethics, Religion) and Public Administration

4) Strengthening Local Administration and Decentralization

5) Local Knowledge, Innovation and Public Policy

6) Social Architecture, Digital Governance and Human Values

We invite submission of abstracts and papers that reflect on the above issues from academics and practitioners. Please find below information about submitting your papers.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

Opening of Abstract Submission:     August 1st, 2017

Abstract Submission Deadline:    October 27th, 2017

Notification of acceptance/rejection to authors:   November 15th, 2017

Final Paper Submission Deadline:     January 15th, 2018

Online Registration:      January 15th, 2018  

 

All paper abstracts should be no more than one-page long, single-spaced, and should include the following information: (1) author(s) name, title, institutional affiliation, and official address; (2) contact details (email and phone) of authors and/or corresponding author(s); (3) presentation paper title and its sub-theme category; and (4) the presentation paper abstract (no more than 500 words in English). All paper abstracts should be sent as an email attachment to aapa2018.indonesia@ugm.ac.id  no later than October 27, 2017

Karya Dokumenter UGM-Flinders

Terbuka untuk semua mahasiswa Prodi S1 Dikom FISIPOL semua peminatan!

 

 

PELAJARI (September 2017)

Ikuti workshop yang dipandu oleh staf pengajar Dikom UGM, Laboran Lab. Audio Visual Dikom UGM dan Kampung Halaman.

Topik Workshop:

  1. Meneliti komunitas
  2. Membuat film dokumenter
  3. Membuat esai foto khas jurnalistik
  4. Manajemen program media

Output workshop yaitu proposal karya esai/novela foto, liputan jurnalistik, dan strategi komunikasi kegiatan. Proposal karya foto berpeluang dijadikan proposal skripsi karya dan diseleksi kembali untuk terlibat dalam kolaborasi pembuatan foto-film UGM-Flinders.

 

PRAKTEKKAN (Oktober, November 2017)

Tim mahasiswa UGM: Dua mahasiswa akan membuat karya foto/ film, empat mahasiswa akan membantu proses pembuatan film, satu mahasiswa merancang promosi event eksebisi, dan satu mahasiswa meliput praktek produksi karya Tim UGM maupun Flinders.

Tim mahasiswa Flinders: Sepuluh mahasiswa akan membuat film di Yogyakarta.

 

Pilih salah satu topik praktek untuk produksi karya film/foto:

1)       Disabilitas di Yogyakarta

2)       Kehidupan di pedesaan Yogyakarta

3)       Voluntarisme orang Australia di Yogyakarta

PAMERKAN (Februari 2018)

Foto, film, dan karya jurnalistik mahasiswa UGM dan Flinders didiskusikan dan dieksebisi di Yogyakarta maupun di Australia! Tim mahasiswa UGM akan mengeksekusi eksebisi di Yogyakarta.

Syarat & Prosedur:

1)         Mahasiswa Prodi S1 Ilmu Komunikasi Dikom FISIPOL UGM

2)         Mengisi formulir online di: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ugmflinders

3)         Mengirim CV dan Letter of Interest (LoI) ke email dikom.fisipol@ugm.ac.id      

Dengan penamaan Curvit_namamu dan LoI_namamu

4)       Semua di atas paling lambat pada Senin 21 Agustus 2017 pukul 23.59 WIB

Format & Isi LoI:

1)       Sepanjang 300-400 kata

2)       Menunjukkan rekam minat di jurnalisme/ media hiburan/ humas/ atau periklanan

3)       Memaparkan wawasan mengenai esai foto/ film dokumenter/ promosi kegiatan/ liputan jurnalistik

4)       Mengkaitkan wawasan tersebut dengan salah satu topik praktek
