Yogyakarta, 10 August 2018—Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada held Fisiprun on Friday (10/8). This event was held to enliven the upcoming Asian Games on the 18th of August. This event was attended by 165 participants, which hailed from various faculties in Universitas Gadjah Mada. Fisiprun took place around the premises of UGM, totalling 4 km in track length. Fisipol UGM supports the success Asian Games 2018 and Indonesian athletes that will participate in this competition.
“Fisiprun was held not as a race, but as a form of support by Fisipol UGM for the success of Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia. As Indonesians, Asian Games needs to be understood as our event, and we shouldn’t neglect our athletes that will be struggling in this competition. We hope that we can enliven Asian Games through positive move and healthy lifestyle, as well as strengthening the relations of employees and the academic community of UGM,” as said by Velina Aulia, the public relations officer of Fisipol UGM.
On the opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dr. Erwan Agus Purwanto, M.Si hoped that Fisiprun should be sustainable. “Asian Games is one of the many celebrations, but I hope that Fisiprun can be held routinely, in Fisipol,” Erwan said.
On this Fisiprun, the three fastest runners hailed from the UGM Rectorate’s Department of Institutional Relations, Gita H, Hary Seto from the Academic Department of Fisipol and Khairul Triharnanto from the Faculty of Law. To appreciate their strong spirit and enthusiasm, each of the fastest runners received souvenirs from Fisipol.
Besides boiled corns, peanuts, mineral water and banana, Fisiprun also presented various appealing door prizes. Despite the tiring run, participants still seemed strong when receiving t-shirts, merchandises and Digilib Café vouchers as door prizes of this event.
