Reviewing Onuf’s Constructivism: How States are Formed Through Collective Consciousness.

Yogyakarta, 25 September 2018- “Nicolas Onuf is the founder of constructivism in International Relations. According to him, International Relations is a form of social constructivism in which there are dynamics in interactions between an individual and the society,” stated by Kevin to open the Suryakanta Reading Club discussion on Tuesday (25/9) in the IIS Discussion Room or the BA 503 room in Fisipol UGM. Suryakanta Reading Club is a routine monthly agenda of the Institute of International Studies (IIS) that has been conducted since last year. On this occasion, IIS opened the first discussion of the semester by discussing Nicholas Onuf’s “The World of Our Making” book and was moderated by Kevin Abimanyu Jatmiko, a fresh graduate from the Department of International Relations Fisipol UGM. read more

Reog Ponorogo Enlivened The 63th Dies Natalis of Fisipol UGM

Yogyakarta, 19 September 2018- more than ten Reog dancers along with lecturers and Fisipol
employees marched from the San Siro Park to the West Hall of Fisipol UGM (19/9). This
procession was the beginning of an event to commemorate the 63 rd Dies Natalis of Fisipol.
This year’s event was themed ‘Strengthening Social Development to Achieve SDG’s’. After
the opening ceremony, the series of event to commemorate this year’s Dies Natalis will last
until October. Some of the events include; dies speech, national seminars, visits of POR Fisip
and will be closed by family gathering and alumni meeting. read more

The Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy Visited Fisipol UGM: HIPIIS DIY Should Be The Guardian For The Contemporary Studies Of Pancasila’s Values

Yogyakarta, 17 September 2018- The arrival of the Minister of Education and Culture Prof.
Muhadjir Effendy was a part of his visit as the Chairman of the Indonesian Society for the
Development of Social Sciences (HIPIIS) for the Yogyakarta branch of HIPIIS (HIPIIS
DIY). HIPIIS DIY, in which most of its members are the Deans of faculties in the sphere of
social sciences in UGM, along with other members that hailed from other universities such as
UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UNS, welcomed the arrival of the Minister of Education and Culture
in the Digilib Café inside the Fisipol UGM building. The agenda of this meeting was filled
with discussions between members of HIPIIS DIY and the Minister of Education and Culture
regarding the programs of HIPIIS DIY. read more

Book Launching: Expanding Horizons: Indonesia’s Regional Engagement in The Indo-Pacific Era

Global Engagement Office (GEO) FISIPOL UGM in cooperation with the Perth USAsia Centre of the University of Western Australia held a seminar and discussion session along with the launching of ‘Expanding Horizons: Indonesia’s Regional Engagement in The Indo-Pacific Era’ book, which was written by Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, Dr. M. Faris Al-Fadhat, Lecturer at the Department of International Relations Universitas Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta and Dr. Poppy Sulistyaning Winanti, Lecturer at the Department of International Relations Universitas Gadjah Mada and Mr. Kyle Springer, Researcher at the Perth USAsia Centre. This seminar and discussion were guided by Dian Fatmawati, Lecturer at the Department of Social Development and Welfare and was held in the Eastern Seminar Room of FISIPOL UGM. This discussion was also attended by the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono and the Dean of FISIPOL UGM, Dr. Erwan Agus Purwanto. Welcoming Asian Games, FISIPOL UGM held Fisiprun

Yogyakarta, 10 August 2018—Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada held Fisiprun on Friday (10/8). This event was held to enliven the upcoming Asian Games on the 18th of August. This event was attended by 165 participants, which hailed from various faculties in Universitas Gadjah Mada. Fisiprun took place around the premises of UGM, totalling 4 km in track length. Fisipol UGM supports the success Asian Games 2018 and Indonesian athletes that will participate in this competition. read more

The Euphoria of PPSMB Society 2018’s Inauguration and Closing

Yogyakarta, 9 August 2018- The student orientation in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UGM, PPSMB society, has ended in Thursday (9/7). The series of events in the first day included talk show, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), poster presentations, rally simulation and stage performances. On the second day, PPSMB was held in each department, continued with the exhibition of the faculty’s student extracurricular activities (UKMF), concluded with the inauguration of PPSMB society and the closing of the event. read more

As part of the student orientation in Universitas Gadjah Mada for 2018/2019 academic year, on Monday (6/8) a meeting for the parents of the new students of FISIPOL UGM was held. Tens of parents of the nation’s best youths have filled the west hallway of FISIPOL since 12.30 p.m.. This was not only attended by the representatives of the Dean and the Senate, but also representatives of each department and majors in FISIPOL UGM. Community Entrepreneurship Academy, the Fisipol Creative Hub Innovation Resolves Social Problems through Entrepreneurship Programs

Fisipol Creative Hub held a soft launching of the Community Entrepreneurship Academy (AKM) program. This program focuses on developing rural entrepreneurship, using potential pools of educated university students/graduates while concurrently linking the chain of various stakeholders including universities, business and philanthropy groups, regional and central governments, successful rural sociopreneurs, and also alumni groups. The AKM program serves as a bridge that supports the needs of rural development with the private sector by providing university students/graduates as facilitators, business mentors, and rural sociopreneurs. read more
