Yogyakarta, May 4th 2023─The Department of Public Policy Management of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Gadjah Mada (DMKP Fisipol UGM) held a Stakeholder Forum entitled “Communication Strategy in Mitigating Internal Turmoil and Rebranding of the Post-Corruption Indication in the Ministry of Finance through New Media” on Thursday (4/5) via Zoom Meetings. In the first series of the forum, DMKP presented a number of speakers and speakers from the Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance), namely Leni Nurlaeni, Head of the Communications Strategy Management of the KLI Bureau, Ministry of Finance; Nico Aditia, Head of Research and Audit Subdivision of the KLI Bureau, Ministry of Finance; and Fitria Kurniawati, the Acting Head of Electronic Publications Subdivision of the KLI Bureau, Ministry of Finance; and moderated by Wardatur Masykuroh, Master student of DMKP Fisipol UGM.

Yogyakarta, April 12th 2023—The Center for Digital Society (CfDS) Fisipol UGM collaborated with IDN times in Digitalk X GenZ in holding the GenZ Votes on Wednesday (12/4). The event was held online, with the theme of “The Effect of Social Media Towards Gen Z’s Choice in the 2024 Election”. The theme was chosen based on the fact that youths are now going to participate in Indonesia’s 2024 election, in the middle of hoax, disinformation, and misinformation. In response to that, it is important for policymakers to mitigate the risk, especially in social media.
Yogyakarta, March 31st 2023 – The Social Research Center (SOREC) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Gadjah Mada, collaborated with the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (Pengelola Nama Domain Indonesia /PANDI) in holding a CyberTalk event entitled “Mutual Cooperation in Science for Mental Revolution in the Cyber Era”. The event which was held on Friday (31/3) at the Auditorium Mandiri of FISIPOL UGM also collaborated with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) and Symbolic.id.
Yogyakarta, 24 March 2023─Department of Politics and Government (DPP) UGM held a lecture on Alumni and Practitioners on Friday (24/3) at Big Data Laboratory Room (BA 401), Fisipol UGM. This lecture is a combination of the DPP undergraduate courses, Political Communication Strategy and Elections.
This lecture invited one of the DPP lecturers, AAGN Ari Dwipayana, who is currently a Special Staff Coordinator for the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Taking the topic “Leaked Info Ring 1: President Jokowi’s Political Communication Strategy”, Ari conveyed the political communication strategy implemented by the president. According to him, before determining a communication strategy, the most important thing is to understand the communication objectives to be achieved.
Yogyakarta, March 17th 2023─Responding to issues that arise ahead of the 2024 Election, the Center for Digital Society (CfDS) of FISIPOL UGM collaborated with Perludem to socialize understanding of the 2024 Election and its rumors, on the first episode of Desus series on Friday (17/3). The event, which was held online, presented Khoirunnisa Nur Agustyati (Executive Director of Perludem) as a speaker, guided by Heroik M. Pratama (Researcher of Perludem) and Iradat Wirid (Researcher of CfDS) as host.
Yogyakarta, March 17th 2023─The Department of Politics and Government (DPP) of UGM held an Alumni and Practitioners Lecture on Friday (17/3) at the East Seminar Building of Fisipol UGM. This lecture was carried out by combining two courses of the undergraduate program of DPP, namely Political Communication Strategy and Network Management.
On this occasion, DPP Fisipol UGM presented one of the DPP alumni, Diah Ayu Permatasari, former Executive Vice President (EVP) for Communication and CSR at PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara or PLN (Persero).
Yogyakarta, March 16th 2023─Institute of International Studies (IIS) of the Department of International Relations of UGM together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu RI) held an Independent Policy Review Socialization entitled “Indonesian Health Diplomacy in America and Europe: United States, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland”. The event was held offline on Thursday (16/3) at the Auditorium Mandiri of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UGM. This event presented Spica Tutuhatunewa, Head of the Center for SKK America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to present the results of the policy review; Lukman-nul Hakim, Director of IIS UGM; Muhadi Sugiono, Lecturer and Senior Researcher at HI UGM; Yodi Mahendradhata, Dean of FKKMK; and Rahman Roestan, Director of Operations of Bio Farma; and moderated by Zakaria Al Anshori, Associate Diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Yogyakarta, March 11th 2023─The yearly competition, Ajisaka Festival, is held again by Fisipol UGM’s Department of Communication Studies on 10th-11th March 2023. This year, the Ajisaka Festival raised the theme of online gender-based violence (OGBV) under the title “Agnia Abhipraya” which means the light of hope. The events included in the festival are competitions, roadshows, and talk shows which have been held since 2022.
OGBV as the central theme was not a random choice. It should be noted that the ever-changing dynamic of the digital society has created a new disruption. The definition of violence and sexual assault before the digital era refers to a real action. However, now the form of violence has changed. Through the Ajisaka Festival talk show titled “Women’s Objectification in Media Framing: Does Online Safe Places for Women Still Exist?”, the topic of media-based sexual assault was discussed, specifically, those that happen to women.
Yogyakarta, March 10th 2023─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) UGM hosted the national meeting and working meeting of the Forum of Deans of Social Sciences of Indonesian State Universities (FORDEKIIS) which took place on 9-11 March 2023. This meeting was attended by 112 delegates from 51 faculties of social science in Indonesia. The issue of nationality is one of the important agenda items that is thoroughly discussed for the sake of substantive general elections in 2024. As a forum that brings together academics in the social sciences, FORDEKIIS wants to help ensure that the implementation of the 2024 elections will run with full integrity and focus on the programmatic side of the existing candidates.
