“There are tons of exciting things happening at this time of year in Fisipol. One of them includes being able to see the first-year students interact with each other. From that, I saw that Pamerpol works as some sort of an inclusive bridge for interactions,” Fiorenza mentioned, as one of the staff of Pamerpol.
As a way to show appreciation, Pamerpol also gave out prizes to those who won. The announcement for the winners are done at the end of the event, with the winners representing their departments. The winner for the sodor panci, tarik tambang, and goyang kardus competition came from the Department of Sociology; the winner for the makan nasi kucing competition came from the Department of Management and Public Policy, the winner for the fashion show competition came from the Department of Social Development and Welfare, while the award for best supporters was won by the Department of Communication Science.
“With the existence of Pamerpol, I hope that it can become a medium for developing soft skills and social networking at Fisipol,” Fiorenza explained.
With that, today’s event is one of the manifestations of strengthening social cohesion. Through the fun interdepartmental competitions, the event was able to form social solidarity between the students, especially in welcoming the new academic year with a new spirit. Moreover, the event also provides a forum for students across departments to build bonds with each other and also cooperate within the faculty ground. This celebration is a reflection of how the Gotong Royong spirit can be an important wisdom in working together in order to achieve agendas of development in the upcoming years.
