Yogyakarta, February 11, 2026─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Gadjah Mada held a welcoming ceremony for new postgraduate students for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year today (February 11). This event served as an initial introduction for students to the academic environment and postgraduate education system at FISIPOL UGM.
During the event, new students received an introduction to the academic system, including educational evaluation mechanisms, the fast-track program, and the role of research units and study centers within each department. This introduction aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the academic pathway and opportunities for scientific development during postgraduate studies.
Dean of FISIPOL UGM, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi stated in his remarks, “We at the university are not just here to deliver education or achieve degrees, but more importantly, to ensure the process of knowledge development. In this regard, the postgraduate program has always been the backbone of a university and faculty’s efforts to develop knowledge.”

In addition to academic aspects, the welcoming ceremony also introduced various student support units that play a role in creating a healthy, inclusive, and productive academic environment. These units are expected to provide support for students in supporting their learning, research, and self-development activities.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) UGM hopes that new postgraduate students will adapt optimally, understand the applicable academic system, and utilize the various facilities and resources available to support their learning and research throughout their studies.
