Monday, 4 August 2025 — The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, warmly welcomed the parents and guardians of the 2025 cohort at FISIPOINT, FISIPOL UGM. This gathering served as an important moment to strengthen the relationship between the faculty and students’ families, positioning them as partners in supporting the students’ educational journey.
In his remarks, the Dean extended a heartfelt welcome and expressed gratitude for the trust placed in FISIPOL UGM as the academic home for their sons and daughters.
“I would like to emphasize that FISIPOL UGM is committed to being a safe and nurturing home for all students throughout their academic journey. Our focus goes beyond intellectual growth — we also pay close attention to the psychological and social aspects of student life,” stated Dr. Mas’udi during the event.
The Dean also introduced a range of facilities and services available at FISIPOL. These include academic services to support students’ administrative and coursework needs, a public relations office open for communication and aspirations from families, the Career Development Center (CDC) to assist with early career development, and psychological services available for students in need of mental health support.
In addition, FISIPOL offers various supporting units designed to create a collaborative and holistic learning ecosystem, reflecting the spirit of FISIPOL as an adaptive and progressive faculty.
The event is expected to foster trust and collaboration between parents and the faculty in building an educational environment that fully supports students’ growth and development. This initiative also resonates with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
