
Yogyakarta, May 21, 2025—UGM’s Faculty of Social and Political Science (Fisipol) accepted a visitation from the Central Mamberamo Regency Government, in order to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement on Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) of the Central Mamberamo Regency for the 2025-2029 period.
The signing was done by the Deputy Regent of Central Mamberamo, Mr Itaman Thago, S.Sos., together with the Head of Local Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) of Central Mamberamo Regency, Mr Piet Miniagasi.
This collaboration is a strategic step in formulating data-based, inclusive, and participatory directions for regional development, with knowledge support from Fisipol UGM. The drafting of the Regional Medium Term Development Plan that is both evidence-based and collaborative is expected to strengthen local governance, as well as answer the challenges of development with a sustainable approach.
This activity is also in line with Fisipol’s commitment towards achieving UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, more specifically:
SDG 11: Making cities and communities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable
SDG 16: Promoting peaceful and inclusive society in order to support sustainable development, providing equal access for everyone, as well as building effective accountable, and inclusive institutions at every level.
SDG 17 Strengthening the implementation and revitalizing global partnership for sustainable development
Fisipol UGM welcomes this cooperation with open arms, seeing as this is a concrete example of academic contribution in supporting sustainable and evidence based regional development.
