MKP Alumni Gathering Strengthens Intergenerational Inclusive Collaboration

Yogyakarta, May 14th 2025The Department of Public Policy Management (MKP) of FISIPOL UGM together with its alumni held an alumni gathering entitled MKPketemuAN 2025: Stepping Forward Shining Together at the RRI Auditorium Jakarta, Saturday (10/5) yesterday.

This event became a forum for friendship and consolidation across generations of MKP of FISIPOL UGM alumni. This is evident from the philosophy of choosing the name of the event with the affix “AN” as a form of respect for the history of the department which was previously named State Administration before now transforming into Public Policy Management or MKP.

The series of activities included mingle sessions, sharing sessions between alumni, ratification of the new chairman of the MKP alumni family (Kamapigama), dinner together, and discussion of the strategic direction of Kamapigama going forward. In the event, I Hendrasmo from the State Administration of UGM, the alumni class of 1993, was elected as the new Chairman of Kamapigama.

The event was also attended by representatives of Gamapi (student association of MKP), the dean, departments, education staff, MKP graduate alumni, and representatives from Kagama (UGM alumni family). According to the organizers, the event was designed as a cross-generational meeting space that not only strengthens individual relationships, but also opens up opportunities for professional careers and impactful social collaborations.

According to Haritz Lawana Prakasa, Chairman of the MKPketemuAN 2025 Committee, the event was also enlivened with interactive games. The goal is to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that result in positive interactions such as opening career opportunities, new friends, and collaborations that have an impact on society.

“We hope that the MKP alumni family will grow in the future. So we hope that this event will be a starting point to produce collaborations that are creative, inclusive, and contribute to others. So in essence, this event is a home again for the MKP family and is expected to be a meeting place that produces something positive,” Haritz said in an online interview on May 14, 2025.

Through MKPketemuAN 2025, the alumni affirmed their commitment to strengthening civil society partnerships and encouraging cross-generational engagement in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially on the aspects of collaboration (SDG 17) and reducing inequality (SDG 10).
