PPKK FISIPOL UGM Holds the 63rd Training on Strategic Planning for Government Institutions

Yogyakarta, July 4, 2025 — The Center for Capacity Development and Cooperation (PPKK) of FISIPOL UGM successfully organized the 63rd Training on Strategic Planning for Government Institutions from July 1–4, 2025. The program brought together participants from various regions, including the Province of East Java, the Province of East Kalimantan, Ketapang Regency, West Kotawaringin Regency, East Kotawaringin Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Musi Banyuasin Regency, Tanimbar Islands Regency, and Tasikmalaya City.

The training applied an interactive learning method in which participants not only listened to presentations from experts but also engaged in discussions, simulations, and group presentations. Key exercises included analyzing problems and strategic issues, formulating performance trees, defining goals and objectives, outlining strategies and policy directions, and drafting priority programs, regional apparatus programs, activities, and sub-activities. All sessions were carried out in a serious yet enjoyable atmosphere.

Beyond classroom learning, participants also had the opportunity to visit FISIPOL UGM and attend a lecture by Dr. Fina Itriyati, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni at FISIPOL UGM. Additionally, they visited a local tourism destination in Yogyakarta to support experiential learning and strengthen networking among participants.

This initiative reflects the commitment of PPKK FISIPOL UGM to strengthening the capacity of government institutions in strategic planning and governance. It also resonates with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which promotes effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which highlights collaboration across stakeholders to achieve sustainable development.
