CfDS UGM Organizes Discussion on Work Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in the Era of Digital Economy

Yogyakarta, February 11, 2025—According to the National Economic Survey, the number of persons with disabilities in Indonesia has reached up to 28 million people, which equates to 10 percent of the national population. In an effort to increase the participation of persons with disabilities in the workforce, there are regulations in place that obliges the government to allocate

2 percent of positions in central government institutions to persons with disabilities, and 1 percent of positions in the private sector. Nevertheless, the National Economic Survey also noted that the amount of persons with disabilities in the productive age who are currently employed is less than 10 percent. read more

Canadian Embassy Representative Visits the Department of International Relations Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM

Yogyakarta, January 17, 2025─The Department of International Relations (IR) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from H.E. Juan-Pablo Valdes, Political Counselor of the Canadian Embassy in Indonesia. The visit, which took place in the Common Room of DIHI UGM, aimed to explore the social and political dynamics of Indonesia as the host country.

“Our duty is to understand the political and social dynamics of host countries,” said Mr. Valdes.

The visit was welcomed by the ranks of IR UGM lecturers led by Prof. Dr. Nur Rachmat Yuliantoro, Head of IR UGM, and attended by Drs. Muhadi Sugiono, MA., Dr. Titik Firawati, Dr. Suci Lestari Yuana, and Dr. Muhammad Rum. read more
