Yogyakarta, May 17th 2021━The Faculty of Social and Political Science (Fisipol) UGM through the Wellness Center (WLC) facility held a mass GeNose C19 test for all Fisipol UGM education staff on the first day after the Eid holiday. The Covid-19 screening that is done simply through exhaling will be held for two days which spans from 17th to 18th May 2021 in the West Wing of Fisipol UGM.
The Head of Finance Administration of Fisipol UGM, Uling Sumbogo, said that the GeNose C19 test is aimed to detect and prevent the Covid-19 spread among 110 Fisipol UGM Education staff. In one day, around 50 people will be tested through three sessions from 08.00 a.m. to 13.00 pm. “The schedule for this test is adjusted with people who are currently working from their office, but there are some who need to adjust because this test will only be held for two days,” said Uling.
“This test will also be a practice for the Wellness Fisipol team, because this is the first time that a mass test is held,” Uling added. The operator of the GeNose C19 consists of the Wellness Center (WLC) Fisipol staff that have been trained before. Uling said, right now Fisipol UGM have bought 500 bags to do the GeNose C19 screening.
There are a couple of procedures that need to be done by Fisipol education staff before doing the GeNose C19 staff. First, when they arrive in the West Wing, they need to do the health protocol by checking their body temperatures. “If their body temperature is below 38 celsius, the staff will be directed to the administration table to do their screening,” the WLC coordinator, Sri Purnaningsih, said. The staff will be asked about their travel history, activity that includes 10 people, medical history, and the time they last ate or drank before the test.
The third step is the staff will be given a breathing bag. Next, the breathing bag that has been filled will be gathered and checked with the GeNose C19 equipment by the operators. Finally, staff will be summoned to receive the test result. If the GeNose C19 result is negative, then staff can continue their activity in Fisipol. However, if the result is positive, the staff will be asked to go home and start their quarantine. “After two days of quarantine, we will ask the staff to do a PCR swab test,” Purna explained.
One of Fisipol staff, Yuli Sudarini, appreciated the initiative of conducting the GeNose C19 test in Fisipol. “With the GeNose C19 test, I feel more comfortable working because I know that all the staff have gone through the same test and got a negative result,” she said.
