Yogyakarta, April 28th 2021━Jamaah Muslim Fisipol (JMF) UGM held an annual event of Ramadan in Fisipol (RdF) which is held online in 2021. The event includes fundraising, online class, religious lectures through zoom, discussions, as well as photography and calligraphy competition.
Muhammad Firza as the head of the event said that RdF 1442 H picked Maryam as the theme, which stands for Marhaban Yaa Ramadhan, Gathering Blessings in the Ramadan Month. “We want to use the momentum of RdF 1442 H to gather our blessings as well as to improve our faith and morals,” said the International Relations UGM Batch 2020 student.
The RdF 1442 H event was officially opened with a Grand Launching through the Zoom Meeting platform that was filled with a religious lecture from Ustaz Kiki Fardiansyah about how Ramadan is a cure for our heart and our spirits (14/10). Other than the Grand Launching, online religious lectures was also held through Zoom with Redha Sindaro as the speaker, a trainer in YukNgaji and the founder of @fastquran with the topic of “One Day One Ayat” as an invitation to read the Al-Quran more (21/04).
RdF also held an online class through the WhatsApp group. The topic discussed in the online class is about daily worship that can be done at home, like the solemnity of shalat and how to pray for every occasion. In the online class, speakers will give the materials through chat or video recordings, then the students can discuss the material or ask questions to the speakers. Firza added that there will be one more event which is the open discussion on 30 April. Like the Zoom lecture and online class, the discussion will also invite a speaker to talk about “Stop Gossiping, Let’s Start Improving Ourselves”
Other than discussions, RdF also held a fundraising. The donation will then be used to buy basic necessities for less fortunate families in Masjid Kalimosodo, Nologaten, Caturtunggal. As of 25 April, the amount of donation collected is Rp4.310.000. The fundraising is still open until 30 April 2021.
Last but not least, RdF also held a calligraphy and photography competition that is open for university students across Indonesia. The calligraphy submission is open from 22-28 April and the photography competition from 27 April – 4 May. The winner of both competitions will be announced in the Grand Closing on May 7th.
