Yogyakarta, September 17th 2021─FISIPOL Crisis Center as a service for handling and preventing sexual violence cases within the FISIPOL UGM environment regularly organizes educational activities to raise awareness of the urgency of the issue of sexual violence. After previously holding several Webinar Series and FCC Talks that raised issues related to sexual violence—both directly and indirectly, the FISIPOL Crisis Center is back with its fourth Webinar Series entitled “Self Love: Define Your Value and Personal Boundaries” on Friday. (17/9).
Presenting two speakers, this topic was chosen because setting personal boundaries and values of belief is one of the important efforts that can be done by each individual to prevent and protect themselves from the occurrence of sexual violence. The first speaker, Dina Wahida, S.Psi., M.Psi., as the Psychologist of CDC FISIPOL UGM, delivered material that discussed people pleasers and their relation to personal boundaries. Starting from the characteristics of a people pleaser, to how to build personal boundaries to avoid being a people pleaser.
Agreeing with the material presented by Dina, the second speaker, Zahwa Islami, as Putri Indonesia Intelegensia of 2019, emphasized and explained in more detail the personal boundaries themselves. Starting from a brief definition of personal boundaries, to the influence of ‘unhealthy’ boundaries acquired as a child can affect an individual’s adulthood. In addition to the similarities in the points presented, both Zahwa and Dina also provided quotes at the end of the presentation of the material which intends to strengthen the participants of Webinar Series #4. “Maybe you will experience some failures, but remember you still have plenty of time to try again,” said Dina in her quote at the end of her presentation. Meanwhile, Zahwa gave a message at the end of his presentation, “It’s not all your fault, but it’s not right if we look for someone to blame. So, welcome yourself to love all the stories and journeys of life in front of your eyes.”
Not only strengthening and interacting with the webinar participants through quotes which were delivered at the end of the material presentation, Dina and Zahwa also built a two-way discussion room with the participants in a question and answer session guided by a moderator. Dina also had time to insert a live quiz for the webinar participants before she started the presentation of the material.
