Creative Hub of FISIPOL UGM Held Business Innovation Event for Young People

Yogyakarta, September 8th 2022─Creative Hub of FISIPOL UGM again held the Talent Pitching Batch 6 program. This event has reached the final stage which was held on Thursday (8/9) at the Digital Library Cafe of FISIPOLUGM. Six teams have been selected to advance to the final round and are ready to present their business ideas in front of the jury.

“On this CHub (Creative Hub) we have the earliest stage of incubation, where we have intensively assisted these partners for three months to be able to validate their business ideas so that they are ready to enter the market,” said Lisa Lindawati as Director of Creative Hub. She emphasized that the most important thing in this program is not the competition, but how bright ideas are not only based on creative thinking but must also be executed properly.

There were six teams that made it to the final stage. The first team, namely ‘Salah Jurusan’, is a start-up that provides a series of learning activities, training, and even mentoring for students who feel they are in the wrong major. Second, is ‘Pop Seed’  which is engaged in herbal plants. Third, is the provision of agricultural engineering learning for farmer groups. Fourth, namely ‘Idealogy’ which provides services to UMKMs (Small Businesses) in creating branding. Fifth, is ‘Empowerin’, a service provider platform to solve problems with the right solution. Lastly, ‘Berdaya Kreatif’, which provides digital class services for Indonesian MSMEs.

One of the innovative ideas presented was Idealogy. “MSMEs in Indonesia are growing as many as 62 million MSMEs, meanwhile, currently we are affected by a pandemic and are transforming into the digital era. As many as 160,000 MSMEs in Indonesia have been affected by the pandemic. We all know that a business must have the right branding, in order to compete in the market,” explained by a representative from the Idealogy team in his presentation. Idealogy started with an idea that arose during a visit to the village and found UMKM’s products on display in glass cabinets. The Idealogy team sees that the product actually has a great opportunity if it enters the market. Unfortunately, this is hampered by the inability of the product to have good branding.

The Talent Pitching Batch 6 program is considered capable of providing the best opportunity for alumni, students, and even FISIPOL UGM partners to be able to build new business opportunities. The brilliance of ideas that start from an awareness will later be able to support the development of entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
