KAFISPOLGAMA DI Yogyakarta Regional Management for 2023–2028 Service Period Officially Inaugurated

Yogyakarta, 13 July 2024–The Alumni Family Management of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFISPOLGAMA) Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) was officially inaugurated on Saturday (13/7). The inauguration was held at the Mandiri Auditorium of Fisipol UGM and was attended by the Dean of Fisipol UGM, Wawan Mas’udi. “From the alumni organization, we can do something much more powerful for society. We can together design community service programs to respond to the issues faced by the community,” said Wawan when giving his speech. Wawan also hopes that there will be further meetings between Fisipol UGM and KAFISPOLGAMA DIY after this which will encourage alumni innovation for the alma mater.

The series of inauguration events then continued with the reading of the KAFISPOLGAMA DIY Management Decree for the 2023–2028 term of office by the General Secretary of KAFISPOLGAMA, Ade Siti Barokah. Based on the decree issued on May 11, 2023, it was decided that Heroe Poerwadi, an alumnus of the 1984 Fisipol UGM Communication Science study program, would serve as the General Chairperson of KAFISPOLGAMA DIY from 2023 to 2028. On this occasion, Heroe along with other management consisting of the Advisory Board, Secretary, Treasurer, Regional Commissioner, and various divisions was officially appointed by Setya Utama as the General Chair of the KAFISPOLGAMA Central Management. After being inaugurated, Heroe together with Setya and Wawan signed the inauguration minutes.

“I think this will be a momentum, there will be a meeting between the administrations and the faculty. Incidentally, our alumni hold top positions in regional (government). The hope is that this can open up opportunities for collaboration between the government and campus,” said Heroe.

“As part of the KAFISPOLGAMA, we have the task of empowering alumni and becoming a bridge between alumni and the alma mater, so it doesn’t only help alumni, but also the alma mater,” said Setya, closing the series of events.  With new enthusiasm and solid management, KAFISPOLGAMA DIY is committed to continuing to develop beneficial programs for alumni and the community. It is hoped that support from all academics and alumni can strengthen their contributions in various fields, especially in community service. This is in line with the 3rd point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding Good Health and Well-being and the 17th point regarding Partnerships for the Goals.
