Without Age Limits, Fisipol UGM Opens Free Online Lecturers on Digital Intelligence

Yogyakarta, 30 July 2024–Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM) through the Center for Digital Society (CfDS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) is again opening free classes for the general public. Titled the Digital Intelligence Course (Mata Kuliah Kecerdasan Digital/ MKKD), this online class can be taken by anyone and anywhere, without age restrictions and free of charge.

MKKD consists of two classes: Basic Digital Intelligence and Digital Research Methods. Each participant can choose one or two courses at a time. Lecturers will be held from 6 September to 12 November 2024 with adjusted topics.

The Basic Digital Intelligence class covers material related to people’s daily lives with to increase digital literacy. Meanwhile, the Digital Research Methods class is aimed at participants who have an interest in studying digital issues further in research and writing scientific articles. Participants will receive a graduation certificate if their attendance level is at least 75 percent. The assessment is adjusted to the academic guidelines of the faculty.

For information, it has been recorded that since 2020, there have been 20.000+ participants who have taken part in this MKKD program. Through collaboration with various partners, CfDS FISIPOL UGM as the organizer always tries to facilitate all courses in this program with teachers who are experts and qualified in their respective fields.

The hope is that with the presence of MKKD, FISIPOL UGM can contribute to facilitating inclusive and free education on digital issues for the community, fostering career readiness for future digital talents in Indonesia, and increasing Indonesia’s digital literacy index.
