Yogyakarta, 21 March 2025–The FISIPIT Charity Fun Ride is a sharing program by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) cycling community, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This time, FISIPIT held various actions with the disability group “Paguyuban Bangkit Bersama” on Friday (21/3). The event was held through a gathering and breakfasting with several education staff and lecturers at Resto Numani, Parangtritis, Yogyakarta.
Paguyuban Bangkit Bersama is a Yogyakarta disability group whose members are mostly earthquake victims. When it was initiated in 2012, the first 30 members joined to raise the spirit and empowerment as a disability. Paguyuban representatives expressed gratitude to the FISIPIT Charity Run for providing meaningful support for the association’s sustainability.
“In 2012, the association was first established; it has been 13 years since then. Our gratitude is boundless to be able to bring friends together here,” said the Head of the Association (Paguyuban). The community is the most significant home and motivation for members and families with various activities to support community empowerment. The presence of campus elements is substantial for friends with disabilities to voice inspiration without limitations.
Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, S.IP., MPA, expressed his gratitude in his speech. “We at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM are also among those affected, we are part of the disaster. Hopefully, this friendship can continue for the first time and forever,” he said. The effort to stay in touch strengthens the bond of love and proves that there is always a chance to adapt to any condition. Of course, the support of others is needed to benefit each other.
In line with that, FISIPIT Representative Dr. Ardian Indro Yuwono, S.I.P., M.A. revealed that the routine sharing agenda continues to be pursued by the FISIPIT community. “So this is indeed an agenda every year, every fasting month FISIPIT always takes the time to hold a sharing event. This year, Alhamdulillah can be done with the Bangkit Bersama Association. Hopefully, it can continue to be held next year and beyond,” explained Ardian. He was also happy to see the response of the association members to FISIPIT activities, which reflected a sense of kinship.
Like the association, FISIPIT is a community to channel the cycling hobby for education staff and lecturers. In this sharing event, the cycling route traveled almost 12 km from Sleman to Parangtritis, Bantul. Despite being in the middle of fasting, FISIPIT members were still eager to follow the series of events from start to finish. Through donation activities, it is hoped that the community will be able to provide benefits and share happiness during this Ramadan.
