Yogyakarta, January 29, 2026—The Center for Capacity Development and Cooperation of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) UGM successfully held a Basic Planning System Training for Tulungagung Regency from January 27 to 29, 2026. The training, which aims to improve the capacity of Tulungagung regional government officials, was officially opened by the Regent of Tulungagung and the Dean of Fisipol UGM in Yogyakarta. Participants from the Tulungagung Regency regional government apparatus attended the training.
The training curriculum focused on important topics such as Basic Planning Theory and Concepts, Investment-Based Planning, Introduction to Work Plan (Renja) Preparation, Work Plan Budget (RKA) Preparation Techniques, and Regional Development Monitoring and Evaluation. These subjects are crucial for fostering accountable institutions capable of managing resources and implementing development strategies effectively.
One of the key features of this training is its interactive learning approach. Rather than simply delivering material, the program provides ample opportunities for hands-on practice. Participants are involved in formulating strategic issues and mapping problems related to the preparation of the Work Plan (Renja), as well as learning the techniques for preparing the Work Plan (RKA). This practical approach ensures that participants can apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
This training is part of a broader initiative to build the capacity of local government officials in Tulungagung. By improving their skills in systematic, measurable, and targeted planning, the program aims to have a tangible impact on the development of Tulungagung Regency. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting accountable institutions and encouraging capacity building.
The Basic Planning System Training is a significant step towards enhancing the capacity of local government officials in Tulungagung. By focusing on practical skills and encouraging collaboration, the program aims to create a more accountable and effective local government.
