Yogyakarta, July 30, 2026─The welcoming period for new students is always the most anticipated moment at the beginning of every academic year. At the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), this enthusiasm is burning even brighter as the series of PIONIR Society 2026 events draws near. This event is not only to welcome the new faculty family but also to equip new students as they begin their academic journey at their dream campus.
This year, PIONIR Society 2026 will be held on August 5-6, 2026, as part of the PIONIR Gadjah Mada 2026 series. It carries a profound vision through the theme “Rangkai Arah Prakarsa Muda”. This theme holds a strong philosophical meaning as a gateway to early learning. Through the spirit of togetherness, new students are invited to integrate various ideas and arrange a well-thought-out ‘purpose compass’, so that every step they take always has a clear and directed foundation. Combined with the courage to take initiative, students are expected to become proactive individuals who do not merely absorb knowledge, but are also capable of driving positive changes that have a broad impact on their surroundings.
This grand vision is supported by practical innovations from the committee. Aisya Najma Nadira, as the General Coordinator of PIONIR Society 2026, during a live broadcast on FISIPOL UGM’s social media on Thursday (23/07), responded to questions from new students and explained the facilities prepared for the participants.
“This year, there is a booklet showing the rooms & facilities in FISIPOL,” Nadira explained. This innovative booklet is designed as a guide for new students so they can easily get to know the ins and outs of the faculty environment. Armed with good guidance and facility information, new students are expected to feel more assisted, comfortable, and not confused when the actual lecture period begins. Of course, it does not stop at the booklet and classroom activities; new students are also directly invited to take ‘Action’ that will be beneficial in the future. The entire committee has prepared the welcoming event in such a way as to support the creation of an inclusive, supportive, and friendly campus environment for the new students.
