FISIPOL UGM Holds Public Forum for Dean Candidates (2026–2031 Term)

Yogyakarta, August 12, 2026—The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at UGM held a pivotal event to determine the faculty’s future direction: the Public Forum for FISIPOL UGM Dean Candidates for the 2026–2031 term. This event, featuring presentations of visions and missions as well as an exchange of ideas, took place today, Wednesday (August 12), at the FISIPOL UGM 4th-floor Auditorium from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB.

The event—open exclusively to the FISIPOL UGM academic community with limited seating—began with opening remarks from the current Dean, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, who emphasized that the most important aspect of this election process is the unity of the FISIPOL UGM family. Prof. Dr. Phil. Hermin Indah Wahyuni, M.Si., also spoke during the opening, explaining that today’s agenda was one of fifteen stages in the Dean selection process. Finally, Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Kumorotomo, M.P.P., as the chair of the selection committee, noted that today’s selection activities would be followed by a vote tomorrow, Thursday (August 13).

The public forum featured four candidates for Dean: Arie Ruhyanto, S.IP., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Bahruddin, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Fina Itriyati, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D.; and Prof. Dr. Phil. Gabriel Lele, S.IP., M.Si. The discussion session, aimed at dissecting the policy directions of each candidate, was moderated by Dr. Luqman-nul Hakim, S.IP., M.A.
