Yogyakarta, September 4, 2026—The Department of Public Policy and Management (DMKP) at Fisipol UGM hosted a visit from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Andalas, West Sumatra, this morning, Friday (Sept 4), in the Dean’s Office meeting room. The visit was organized to expand the academic collaboration network between Fisipol UGM and FISIP Universitas Andalas, specifically regarding student exchanges and internationalization programs.
The Dean of Fisipol UGM, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, stated that student exchanges between the two universities are highly feasible through specific schemes. He also noted that several students from FISIP Universitas Andalas had previously participated in exchanges at Fisipol UGM under the MBKM program.
“It is hoped that this momentum can revitalize the program through collaboration,” he said. He then highlighted a specific area of expertise at DMKP Fisipol UGM: indigenous public policy—a public policy model that incorporates indigenous elements. Student exchanges would create opportunities for students from both universities to learn about these specialized areas.
During the visit, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Andalas, Dr. Jendrinus, also expressed his hope to exchange information regarding Fisipol UGM’s internationalization programs through this benchmarking visit.
