Yogyakarta, September 10, 2026─The Fisipol Crisis Center (FCC) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized the “FCC Menyapa 2026” program for all new undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL). This activity aims to provide foundational knowledge on sexual violence prevention and mental health. The implementation of this education reflects the institution’s commitment to providing a safe, healthy higher education ecosystem and ensuring individual well-being.
The implementation of FCC Menyapa 2026 was scheduled in rotation for each department to ensure that information delivery runs effectively and maximizes two-way interaction. Through smaller groups, new students have the opportunity to comfortably discuss these crucial issues.

The material presentation was divided into two main focuses. The first part highlighted the issue of sexual violence, led directly by representatives from the Sexual Violence Division. This session opened with a “Word Search” (Cari Kata) game to foster participants’ sensitivity to the topic. Furthermore, the speakers dissected the definition of sexual violence, identified various forms of commonly occurring violations, and emphasized the concept of consent. Students were also equipped with self-protection action procedures if they find themselves in such situations. This education serves as a systematic campus effort to protect student human rights while promoting the creation of safe spaces.

In the second session, the agenda shifted to mental health material. The committee started this session with a “Way Ground” game to focus participants’ attention before entering the core discussion. The presentation was then continued by a psychologist from the Career Development Center (CDC). The psychologist comprehensively explained the definition of mental health, identified signs of emotional conditions, and discussed various college life challenges that could potentially affect students’ psychological well-being. Additionally, participants received practical guidelines on how to maintain mental stability amidst academic pressure. This step serves as a preventive intervention to support students’ quality of life.
Overall, this series of activities equips new students with knowledge of self-protection and stress management. Through FCC Menyapa 2026, UGM takes concrete steps to ensure its students possess good psychological resilience and are free from the threat of violence while pursuing quality education.
