Alumni and Practitioners Lecture of DPP FISIPOL UGM Discussed Network Building Strategies Through Effective Communication Techniques

Yogyakarta, March 17th 2023─The Department of Politics and Government (DPP) of UGM held an Alumni and Practitioners Lecture on Friday (17/3) at the East Seminar Building of Fisipol UGM. This lecture was carried out by combining two courses of the undergraduate program of DPP, namely Political Communication Strategy and Network Management.

On this occasion, DPP Fisipol UGM presented one of the DPP alumni, Diah Ayu Permatasari, former Executive Vice President (EVP) for Communication and CSR at PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara or PLN (Persero).

The woman who is familiarly called Pepy gave lectures on Network Building Strategies through Effective Communication Techniques, which were specifically attended by DPP students class of 2020 and 2021. Pepy explained the importance of networking in life, both at the individual and organizational levels.

“Networks are a source of information and support that can help achieve goals and develop a system. Therefore, one way of building networks is through effective communication,” said Peppy, the graduate of the Government Science of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM class 1999.

However, Pepy also emphasized that the network should not only be built but also used. “That is the most important part,” she continued.

Alumni and Practitioner Lectures are held to provide opportunities for students to study lecture topics directly with resource persons, whether they come from alumni or practitioners who are experts in their fields. This collaboration class with alumni and practitioners is a regular and continuous class held by the Department of Politics and Government of FISIPOL UGM.
