Yogyakarta, 22 May 2019—The Creative Hub (C-Hub) of Fisipol UGM held another sharing session event, which took place in Block 71 co-working space. Representatives from Amalan and Bantu were the main speakers in Wednesday’s sharing session.
This event was opened by Matahari Farransahat by introducing the 2 projects of C-Hub; Talent Pitching and Social Entrepreneurship Academy (AKM). AKM’s programmes can be accessed through MOOC. C-Hub was established in 2018 with the aim of spreading the awareness for social entrepreneurship through know-how.
Ghilman Nafadza provided a presentation regarding Bantu. Bantu is a product of the first batch of C-Hub’s business incubator, which works as a platform for emergency services. Due to Indonesia’s relatively poor condition of emergency services, Ghilman saw this condition as an opportunity to develop Bantu.
Security, medical, firefighting and automotive are the services that Bantu covers. “Bantu will also partner with tire repairment providers, street service stations and cleaning services in order to empower them. Through the business-to-business scheme, along with the government, the police, the fire brigade and hospitals, the services will be delivered real-time,” Ghilman stated.
Afterwards, the sharing session was proceeded with a presentation from Amalan, a platform that connects banks with consumers that have problems with their loans. “There are cases where business owners fail to repay their loans because their businesses failed, and this problem is worsened by the use of debt collectors. Amalan seeks to bridge the business owners with problematic loans to the banks so that they can continue their businesses,” as conveyed by Genta Mahardika, the Manager of Quality and Training of Amalan.
Amalan was founded by Arne Hartmann in Singapore in 2014. It has a consulting, mediating and other supporting teams. Amalan collects its profits through a success fee. “At the end of each case, there is a success fee, and its amount is adjusted accordingly to each client. The fee will be collected if the mediation process went smoothly,” Genta stated. “We hope that Amalan can make loan mediations easier, thus more people can continue their businesses and have financial independence,” Genta said as a closing remark.
