Yogyakarta, October 26th 2021─The Center for Digital Society held a Digital Discussion #57 program entitled “SEO Content Writing 101” on Tuesday (26/10) night. The discussion took place through the Telegram group and featured a speaker from Niagahoster’s SEO Content Editor, Imas Indra.

There are many ways to optimize SEO, which can be grouped into three. First, On-page SEO which focuses on improving the parts on the website page. Second, Off-page SEO is done to increase the reputation and authority of the website. Third, Technical SEO is carried out to improve website performance, especially in terms of speed and security.
Applying SEO is important because it can bring in more traffic than social media. More than half of website traffic comes from organic traffic or SEO. Many businesses are chasing page #1 on Google because the lower the ranking of the website, the less traffic it gets. In addition, SEO helps increase conversions such as leads, sales, and more. SEO is also called a long term investment because of its practical promotion. “The thing is that by making SEO content once, traffic can come months later. In contrast to social media promotions, the engagement may last for a matter of days,” Imas said.
One way to make it easier for Google bots and readers to find content is to create SEO friendly content. Meanwhile, the first step in writing SEO friendly articles is to look for general topics that can later be broken down into more specific content ideas. Then, do keyword research or the keywords people use to search for written content. We can use several tools such as Ubersuggest and Ahrefs to find the right keywords. After that, we need to check the search intent or the intent of the keyword on page #1 of Google and do some competitor research. “Before writing, you need to know first how your competition executes its SEO content. So, you can create much better content and outperform them. The research is easy. Depending on the targeted keywords, Smart People just needs to check the content on page #1 of Google,” Imas said.
