Yogyakarta, November 20th 2022—The get-to-know event with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) is back on November 19 to 20, 2022. The offline event of Halo Fisipol is a breath of fresh air for high school or vocational school students and the equivalent who want to get to know more about the college world. Through a series of seminars and interactive simulations, Halo Fisipol 2022 was successfully attended by more than 300 participants.
“Fisipol is one of the founding faculties of UGM. Even so, we still try to foster unity within the faculty. Halo Fisipol is an event for high school friends to get to know, in terms of, the campus which may later become your destination,” said Wawan Mas’udi as the Dean of Fisipol in his remarks. Before heading to the main series of activities, participants were given a general presentation of material regarding the exploration of interest and talent in the “Know Yourself, Seize Your Future” seminar. Straightforward and cheerful material was delivered by Anggie Martin, S.IP as an alumnus of Fisipol UGM who currently works as a Human Capital Development BRI & Education Content Creator.
Next, the participants were taken to a series of events that were no less interesting, namely the sit-in class. In order to provide an overview of how lecture classes take place, Halo Fisipol provides an opportunity for participants to conduct an offline class simulation. This simulation is divided into three packages according to the participant’s purchase. Package A is filled with classes in Communication and Sociology, package B is filled with classes in International Relations and Social Development and Welfare, and package C is filled with classes in Public Policy Management and Department of Political & Government.
Not only about teaching and learning classes, participants also get to know the organization of each study program/department through Department Talks. This session was attended by representatives from KOMAKO, KOMAHI, GAMAPI, KMS, KAPSTRA, and KOMAP. The entire HMD (Departmental Student Association) looks cool in conveying the attractiveness of their respective organizations. After the entire series of events was carried out, the participants were again gathered at the Mandiri Auditorium 4th Floor of Fisipol to carry out the closing which was also enlivened by the Fisipol Music Forum (FMF).
DEMA Fisipol as the initiator of the event said, “Halo Fisipol is pleased to be able to become a facilitator for friends from SMA/SMK on the same level to get to know their dream campus more or less. It is hoped that in the future, this event can motivate friends to fight for college entrance selection to reach their dream campus.”
