Yogyakarta, 31 Agustus 2020—#BRIWORKMikirBareng Fisipol UGM is back with a discussion about one of the current topics ever since quarantine is implemented which is business in the middle of the pandemic. This discussion series that was held for one hour invited Andy Sugiarto (Team Leader of Indonesia Mall) and Sulistyorini or Orin (An owner of a low caffeine coffee brand, Kopinata) as the speakers. The difficulties faced during the pandemic is not an excuse to not be productive. The condition that forced humans and other sectors of life to adapt also pushes new responses to the status quo. One of them comes from the business sector which needs to be quick in adapting to the demands of the market.
Through the #BRIWORKMikirBareng series, Andy Sugiarto who was represented by Muhammad Atqia (PIC of Yogyakarta Region Indonesia Mall) shared some information about Indonesia Mall. Then, Orin talked about her business experience in using the Indonesia Mall service when selling her coffee product online. The discussion was very entertaining and can be summarized through these sub points:
Let’s find out more about Indonesia Mall!
Made under a cooperation between the BRI bank and e-commerce, Indonesia Mall focuses on helping increase the sale of small business in the national and international stage. Indonesia Mall comes as one of the solutions to problems small businesses face when selling their products online; the complexity of replying to customer’s chats, digital illiteracy, forgetting their passwords, or not knowing online marketing strategies. The mechanism of Indonesia mall is pretty simple, because small businesses only have to focus on producing their products. Meanwhile, aspects such as uploading the photo, description, marketing, chatting, discussion, packaging and shipping, as well as when the consumer gets the package is done by Indonesia Mall.
There are a couple of terms and conditions if small businesses want to use the service of Indonesia Mall. First, businesses have to do well in their respected field, be it the field of culinary, fashion, craft, or health and beauty. Next, the product needs to be original and the small business is not acting as a reseller, agent, or distributor. Third, the small business should be able to fulfill the stock needed by Indonesia Mall for branding. Other than that, they also need to run a consignment system with Indonesia Mall. Tomy said that lately, the international market has had a rising interest with national small business in the fashion category, especially when it concerns batik. Tomy hopes that youth that wants to develop their business can develop local products such as batik and preserve Indonesia’s culture through Indonesia Mall.
