In particular, online shopping consumers who tend to be targeted are vulnerable to leakage and misuse of personal data.
The first topic that was launched was ‘The Importance of Personal Data Protection in the Marketplace to support the Digital Literacy National Movement program’.
“The launch of the Digital Literacy Module is a manifestation of Tokopedia’s commitment to helping increase digital literacy in society and digital talent in the country. We believe that this collaboration can contribute to efforts to digitize and increase Indonesia’s digital literacy, which is currently the target of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics, while at the same time encouraging the country’s economic recovery,” said Leontinus in his presentation.
The module contains a comprehensive explanation regarding the protection and security of personal data from online marketplace consumers. CfDS and Tokopedia also try to emphasize the importance of protecting personal data when transacting on the marketplace, by providing various studies and issues of crimes against personal data.
The module is also equipped with an explanation of policies and legal regulations regarding personal data in Indonesia, to support users’ responsibilities in protecting their personal data when transacting in the marketplace. Including the active role of the marketplace when providing guarantees for personal data protection.
In addition to including procedures for protecting personal data in the marketplace, this module also provides tips and tricks that can help increase online marketplace consumer awareness of the urgency of protecting personal data.
Anisa Pratita Kirana Mantovani as Executive Secretary of Partnership and Research CfDS said, “Through qualified digital literacy, together with preventive, adaptive, and collaborative efforts, it is hoped that online marketplace users can improve the security of their personal data.”
Anisa emphasized that the collaboration of the marketplace, the government, and the users themselves, is expected to increase awareness of the importance of protecting personal data in today’s online transactions.
