Me-Health Magazine Launch and Webinar on CDC Me-Health Day

Yogyakarta, October 26th 2021─To celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10th, the peer counselors from the Career Development Center (CDC) FISIPOL UGM held an event titled “Mental Health Society (MHS)” that is aimed to increase society’s awareness, especially university students’, about the importance of taking care of our body and mind in order to be healthy. With the theme of “Be Mentalsafe, Be Covidsafe”,  MHS 2021 underlined the urgency of mental and bodily health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After holding the Virtual Healing Class and Cu-Time “Vent (Curhat) Time” with Professional, MHS 2021 closed its Me-Health Day line of events with a webinar titled “Mental Health Awareness: If Not From Us, Then From Who?” as well as a Me-Health Magazine book launch on Tuesday (26/10). The event invited Istiqomah Yungsiana, S.Psi, M.Psi., as a Psychologist in UGM Centralized Service Unit who talked about the basic things that one needs to maintain their mental health. The event was moderated by Balya Galuh Jiehan, as CDC FISIPOL UGM Peer counselor. The event covered the topic of definition, effects, symptoms, early detection and assessment, curation and rehabilitation, diagnosis, how to handle the problem, and the benefits of a stable mental health.

Even though the topic is quite extensive for one webinar, the attendants were still very excited from the start until the end of the event. Before sharing the material, for example, Isti invited attendants to fill in some questions in the MentiMeter which was interesting. Then, after every point of material, Isti also allowed a short pause to answer some questions that the attendants have given in the chat column. Isti also allowed Balya to share her story in order to answer the questions from the attendants.

After Isti finished his material sharing and all the questions were answered, Balya allowed Hana Aulia, one of CDC FISIPOL UGM Peer counselors, as the Head Director of Me-Health Magazine to officially launch the magazine that was initiated by the peer counselors. With a short remark by Hana, the attendants are also invited to download the Me-Health Magazine through the link given. After the doorprize announcement and a photo session, the Me-Health Day was officially closed by Balya.
