This book came from a reflection about how humans lose their connection because of their reliance on technology. Alone Together can be interpreted as a warning against technology use. This book consist of two main parts; first, the relation of human with robots; second, technology as a bridge for human connection. Technology does have a positive impact on human connection, but technology can also break human connection in real life.
The RDF 1441H series was closed with a Grand Closing Tabligh through the Instagram live feature on May 20th 2020. The Grand Closing had a theme of Ramadhan Reflection in the Midst of a pandemic: Society Solidarity to Liven Up Ramadhan. It was presented by Ustad Hakimuddin Salim Lc, MA, an alumni of Islam Madinah University. The event started on 16;30 and was moderated by Muhammad Iqbal, a Public Policy Management student batch 2017. There are a couple points presented by the ustad in this Grand opening. First, the social dimension of Muslim’s syari’at, that the vertical connection with Allah is called habluminallah and the connection amongst human is called habluminannas. Though the pandemic forces us to not pray in the masjid, this can be an opportunity to strengthen the social bond in our family. “This is a chance to strengthen the bond with our family by doing tarawih together,” ustad explained.
Second, the Rasalullah is the most generous man, but he is more generous during Ramadhan. The generosity of Rasulullah is stronger than the wind, it moves fast, and is non discriminative. In this matter, it is explained that the Angel of Jibril came to Rasullulah every night in the month of Ramadhan to do tadarus together. Finally, he spoke about the importance of zakat and shodaqoh in the month of Ramadhan. The importance of those two impact is heightened in the middle of a pandemic.
The reward we get is based on our charity and our how socially aware we are. In the middle of this pandemic, our shodaqoh will be more meaningful compared to shodaqoh on other times because our shodaqoh can alleviate the burden of our brothers and sisters who lost their job, have a reduced income, and have a difficulty to even eat. “The reward we get is equal to the how beneficial the action is,” ustad explained. The tabligh ended at 5.20 pm.
