Yogyakarta, 26 Juli 2020—Creative Hub/C-Hub FISIPOL UGM organized its virtual discussion titled Small Talk with Neo Wedding Solution/NWS, a participant of Second Batch C-Hub Talent, via Instagram. The discussion examined socioentrepreneurship in wedding organization, inviting Arif and Bagas from NWS as speakers. Also present was Dea as the moderator.
The speaker began the discussion by briefly introducing NWS. NWS is a digital marketplace established in 2019, in which trusted wedding organization vendors in Yogyakarta promote its services. Another service provided by NWS is wedding event consultation.
The idea of establishing Neo Wedding Solution emerged from a religious music group formed in 2014. After participating in one of C-Hub’s trainings, the group expanded into developing an online marketplace for wedding organization services. As they didn’t come from an entrepreneur background, C-Hub’s trainings provided eye-opening insights on socioentrepreneurship to the founders. Moreover, C-Hub’s coaching sessions enabled them to comprehend their business’ strengths and weaknesses, hence assisting them in directing the business (particularly in digital platforms).
As a wedding organizer, NWS is directly affected by the pandemic. According to Arif and Bagas, in order to survive the tough situation, NWS’ members attempted problem solving through consensus. By virtue of exchanges of ideas, they agreed to activate social media to maintain communication with the customers. The strategy is believed to secure customers’ trust.
Wrapping up the discussion, the speakers gave several advices in starting entrepreneurship. Basically, everybody can be an entrepreneur. The success depends on one’s will to observe chances. However, we need to assess our capabilities before deciding to become one, as well as persevere along the way.
