
Yogyakarta, February 23rd 2025─Global Engagement Office of FISIPOL UGM, in collaboration with Singapore Management University (SMU) held a Summer Course program supported by Temasek Foundation Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking (TF LEaRN). As this program is a continuation of the previous program, the Winter Course 2024 which was held at the end of 2024. The program lasts for 1 month which is divided into two segments, namely in Yogyakarta and Singapore with a duration of two weeks each—8 to 20 June 2025 (Indonesia) and 23 June to 4 July 2025 (Singapore).
The SMU x UGM Summer Course 2025 program raises the theme “The Dynamics of Indonesian Society, Politics, and Economy”. This theme reflects the dynamics of social, political, and economic society that occur in Indonesia which are translated into lecture topics. This program is structured with various series of events, ranging from lecture visits, company visits, to cultural excursions. Specifically, in the lecture visit series, participants will follow three lecture clusters, namely social, economic, and political. On this occasion, TF LEaRN SMU x UGM Summer Course is packed with several novelty visitation places that are explored and the topics discussed in the lectures are adjusted to respond to various dynamics that are happening today in the domestic and regional scope.
Through this Summer Course program, participants will get many benefits and interesting experiences. Starting from the conversion of 3 credits, intercultural networking, exploration of knowledge about global issues, and other interesting knowledge & experiences. Not only that, through this program, participants can also actualize leadership skills based on academic achievement. Then, as a form of appreciation, after the Summer Course program is implemented, participants will get a program certificate that can be claimed by uploading activity reflections and completing post-program responses.
This program is expected to give positive contribution and feedback for various parties. “From this program, participants are expected to not only gain new knowledge from the perspective of Indonesia and Singapore, but also increase their network of friends with new friends from Singapore and vice versa,” concluded Satria as the Staff of GEO of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM.
