Yogyakarta, April 9, 2026─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), has once again presented the “FISIPOL Free Breakfast” program as a form of support for students during the 2025/2026 midterm exams period. The program is held every morning starting at 06:30 AM in the east corridor of FISIPOL UGM, specifically around the Security, Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency, and Environment Office (K5L). Yogyakarta, March 9, 2026—In the spirit of Ramadan, lecturers, educational staff, and students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a breaking-the-fast together on Monday (March 9).

This breaking-the-fast event was not only intended to break the fast, but also served as a moment of togetherness for the FISIPOL UGM community. The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Wawan Mas’udi, stated, “Of course, our breaking-the-fast together today is not solely to break the fast, as the main purpose of breaking the fast is to break the fast. Yogyakarta, March 4, 2026—The FISIPOL Muslim Community raised the theme “Encouraging Steps Towards Actual Change: The Foundation of Islam” in a series of Ramadan events at FISIPOL (RDF) 1448H.

Yusuf Satrio Negoro, a member of the RDF Steering Committee, stated that this theme was chosen in response to current issues related to the erosion of Islamic values. “The background of this year’s RDF is to address various related issues (ecology and government policy) and how Islamic values ​​can provide solutions or become the best values ​​or ethos for resolving environmental damage and other issues,” he said. read more

Yogyakarta, July 16, 2025─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), through the Academic Innovation Unit (UIA), is launching a free online class titled “Sustainable Transformation Towards Global Multifaceted Issues” on the FISIPOL Online Campus (FOCUS) website. This class is a product of a collaboration between FISIPOL UGM and Gaziantep University, and is supported by the Erasmus+ Project 2025.

Using English as the course language, this class aims to foster critical understanding in formulating inclusive and sustainable development strategies. addresses three main themes: industrial transformation in global production networks, sustainable food systems amidst multiple crises, and the green transition in Europe and its global implications. Participants will learn how global changes such as industrialization, climate and food crises, and environmental policies are reshaping urban spaces, local food security, and socio-economic policy directions. With case studies from Europe, Turkey, and Southeast Asia, the course fosters a critical understanding across diverse contexts and promotes academic collaboration in developing inclusive and sustainable development strategies. read more
