Yogyakarta, 3 August 2019—During the welcoming ceremony for the new students from the batch of 2019, Fisipol held a meeting for the parents of the new students to introduce more about Fisipol, which took place in the West Hall of Fisipol UGM. This meeting was held in order to introduce the faculty members of Fisipol, which included the dean, the vice-dean, the senate, the lecturers and other faculty members to the parents.Erwan Agus Purwanto, the Dean of Fisipol UGM, was delighted to welcome the parents of the new students. “Congratulations for the success of your sons and daughters in passing the entrance exam and be able to continue their studies in UGM, especially in Fisipol, a faculty that always produces exemplary graduates”, Erwan stated.
In the introduction to Fisipol session, Dian Fatmawati as the Faculty Secretary, as well as lecturer at the Department of Social Development and Welfare, introduced the faculty members from the six departments, the study programs at the undergraduate level that are available and the study plan card (KRS) system. The maximum number of study credits (SKS) for undergraduate students is 24 SKS per semester. In order to graduate, an undergraduate student should finish 144 SKS with the maximum study duration of five years.
Furthermore, Fisipol provides various digital facilities for its students, such as the One Stop Service (OSS) and the Study Report Information System (SIPS). OSS is an online administration service, while SIPS is a platform for parents to monitor the activities of their children, such as their class attendance rate. In addition, Fisipol also provides brick and mortar facilities, such as Fisipmart, Fisipoint, a big data lab, a digital library and a co-working space.
Meanwhile, the Career Development Center (CDC) provides the students with the necessary skills that are relevant for their professional career, as well as self-development & psychological services and internship assistance services. The existing facilities in Fisipol exist to create competent graduates, both academically and socially, hence able to contribute positively to the nation.
