About UGM-Osaka University RESPECT Satellite Office
Established in March 2013, UGM-Osaka University RESPECT Satellite Office is a collaborative project, hosted by the Institute of International Studies (IIS) of the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada, that aims to support the development of Disaster Resilient Community in Indonesia. IIS partners with BPBD Yogyakarta (Regional Disaster Management Agency) in engaging communities and institutionalizing as well as mainstreaming disaster management.

Job Vacancy
The job position is to support the integration of CARED into BPBD’s disaster information system. CARED is a smartphone-based wide-view disaster information and prediction system developed by the satellite office. The officer will act as a liaison to facilitate coordination between the satellite office and BPBD Yogyakarta Special Region. We invite technologically-capable, highly-motivated and creative young professional between 20-27 years old to join our office as Program Officer of CARED. This is a full time job with the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Providing technical assistance to BPBD DIY in disseminating the application (CARED)
- Representing IIS in BPBD activities related to dissemination of disaster technology and community based disaster risk reduction
- Taking part in field assistance conducted by BPBD
- Writing minutes of meetings, reports and other written communication documents as required
- Providing regular information updates on activities related to integration of CARED application into BPBD activities in the organization website
Requirements
- Having sufficient oral and written English skills
- Capable of managing web-based information technology
- Knowledge in disaster management and experience in student community service is of an advantage
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Ability to work effectively with sufficient level of autonomy and
- Ability to multi-task and deliver against tight deadlines.
