To Celebrate the 29th Dies Natalis, MAP Fisipol UGM Held a National Seminar and Alumni Meet-up

Yogyakarta, November 5th, 2022—To celebrate the 29th Dies Natalis, the Magister Study of Public Administration Science (MAP) DMKP Fisipol Universitas Gadjah Mada held a National Seminar titled “The Direction of Digital Transformation of Government in Indonesia: Adaptation and Problems”. This event was held on Saturday (5/11) in the Seminar room of the Magister Study of Public Administration Science (MAP) DMKP Fisipol UGM building.

This national seminar invited four speakers who are experts in the government digital transformation area. The speakers invited are also alumni from the Magister Study of Public Administration Science (MAP) DMKP Fisipol Universitas Gadjah Mada which are Dr. Frans Pekey, M.Si (Mayor of Jayapura and MAP Alumni Batch 2002), Dr.H. Genius Umar, S.Sos., M.Si. (Mayor of Pariaman and MAP Alumni Batch 2001), Agung Kurniawan, S.IP., and Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Kumorotomo, MPP as a MAP lecturer and a Professor in the Faculty of Social Science and Politics at Universitas Gadjah Mada. read more

Supporting the Realization of Metaverse, CfDS Fisipol UGM Holds Discussion on Strengthening Digital Infrastructure with Meta

Jakarta, October 25th 2022─Center for Digital Society (CfDS) Fof FISIPOL UGM again collaborated with Meta in holding a talk show entitled “Connectivity for the Future of Metaverse Indonesia” on Tuesday (25/10) at KAUM Jakarta. The event, which was supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) of the Republic of Indonesia, is a form of support for the G20 Indonesia Presidency and one of a series of events supporting the G20 Digital Economic Working Group (DEWG). The discussion on Metaverse was opened by Dedy Permady, the Alternate Chair DEWG G20 and Rahima Abdulrahim, Director of Public Policy Meta for Southeast Asia. The opening of the event was followed by a panel discussion filled with various speakers, namely Dr. Ir. Ismail, Director General of Postal and Information Technology Equipment Resources; Ismail Shah, Head of Meta Connectivity and Access Policy; Muhammad Arif, Chairman of APJII; and Nies Purwati, Senior Director of Government Affairs at Qualcomm International. read more

Communicareer 2022: Finding the Opportunity in Every Possibility

Yogyakarta, October 22nd 2022–The career development seminar is implemented again by the UGM Fisipol Communication Student Corps on Saturday (22/10). Titled “Discover Opportunity in Every Possibility”, the Communicareer 2022 seminar invited two alumni from UGM communication studies that now hold important roles in the movie industry and in public relations. Luhki Herwayanogi, a director, filled the Alumni Talks session. He explained that the movie industry today is going through a major development; in the past, the Indonesian society preferred to watch movies from abroad, but now, the Indonesian film industry is getting more attention from youth. “The Indonesian film industry has major potential which means that there is already a lot of collaboration and help from the government to raise the movie industry. Because, to support the film industry, it is not enough that one individual or a group does it. The government also have to support it,” Luhki said.  read more

The PANRB Ministry Discussed Bureaucratic Reformation with Fisipol UGM Students

Yogyakarta, October 21st 2022 – The Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB) held a discussion titled “Bureaucratic Reformation and Its Contribution to Poverty Eradication” in Fisipol UGM Mandiri Auditorium, on Friday (21/10). The PANRB Minister, Abdullah Azwar Anas, said hello to 100 students after doing a grand launching of “Thematic Bureaucratic Reformation for Poverty Eradication” in Gadjah Mada University’s Balai Senat. The discussion was also attended by the Deputy for Human Resources in the Apparatus of the Ministry of PANRB, Dr. Ir. Soprema UGM: Combining Entrepreneurship with Social-Environmental Issues

Yogyakarta, October 21st 2022─UGM Young Sociopreneur again held a seminar on the development of the Era Society 5.0 in the business world. Several prominent speakers were presented to elaborate their thoughts and ideas on today’s sociopreneur innovation. The event which was held on Friday (21/10) was attended by more than 200 participants, both online and offline. The seminar with the theme “Young Sociopreneur Resilience in the Era of Society 5.0” thoroughly discussed the topic of the Penta-Helix collaboration which became a new opportunity in the entrepreneurial sector. This collaboration is a concept of joint collaboration between various parties in the fields of Academics, Business, Community, Government, and Media. Analyzing the 2019 Election and Its Implication to the Future

Yogyakarta, October 19th 2022─The Department of Politics and Governance (DPP) Fisipol UGM collaborated with the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) in holding a Book Discussion of The Jokowi-Prabowo Election 2.0 on Wednesday (19/10) which was held through a hybrid scheme in the East Seminar room of Fisipol UGM. This event invited speakers that were also the editors and writers of the book such as Made Supriatma, Max Lane, and Budi Irwanto. The talk was also moderated by Amalinda Savirani, a lecturer in DPP Fisipol UGM.  read more

Yogyakarta, October 10th 2022 – Social Research Centre (SOREC) Fisipol UGM collaborated with TuK Indonesia, The Prakarsa, and Responsibank Indonesia in holding a seminar titled “Sustainable Financial Management to Strengthen the People’s Economy and Just Environment” on Monday (10/9) in UGM’s University Club. There were 13 speakers invited to the event such as Dr. Yulius MA as the Deputy of Micro Enterprises Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs; Ah Maftuchan as the Coalition Director of Responsibank Indonesia; and Arie Sujito as the Vice Rector of UGM.  read more

Election Corner for 2024 Election Programmatic Politics

Yogyakarta, October 10th 2022–Fisipol UGM Department of Politics and Government held an Election Corner event titled “Bringing Back Programmatic Politics in the 2024 Election” as one of the events in Fisipol 67th Dies Natalis on Monday (10/10). The event was held through a hybrid scheme in Fisipol UGM’s Auditorium and was live-streamed through DPP UGM’s Youtube channel.

The discussion invited actors from political parties who were once alumni of UGM such as Hasto Kristiyanto from PDI Perjuangan, Willy Aditya from NasDem, and Kholid as a representative of the PKS Party.  read more

Celebrate the 67th Dies Natalis, Fisipol UGM Planted 1000 Trees

Yogyakarta, October 8th 2022—A group of lecturers and students of the Faculty of Social and Political Science (Fisipol) UGM arrived at Getas Special Purpose Forest Area on August 8th 2022 at 11:46 WIB. The group went to Getas to do a symbolic act of the planting of 1000 trees in order to commemorate Fisipol UGM 67th Dies Natalis. The event was held in collaboration with the UGM’s Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Agriculture. 

The Dean of Fisipol UGM, Wawan Mas’udi, said that the planting of 1000 trees is done in order to make concrete steps to solve environmental problems. According to Wawan, efforts to solve environmental problems, like climate change, always start with big narratives. “The fact is that the most important step is to do concrete steps based on those big narratives,” Wawan said.  read more

Seeing Environmental Care Action Practices through Alumni Talks

Yogyakarta, October 7th 2022The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) UGM held a series of events to commemorate its 67th Dies Natalis. One of the events was the Alumni Talk which was held on Friday (7/10) at the BRIWork Amphitheater in a hybrid manner. In accordance with the big theme of the Dies Natalis regarding the climate crisis, the Alumni Talk event raised the topic ‘Want to Care for the Environment, Where to Start?’

Of course, various speakers as well as alumni of FISIPOL UGM who are involved in environmental issues presented in this event, namely Kuntum Melati from the Stockholm Environment Institute; Erwan Widyarto from the DIY Garbage Bank Association, and the manager of the Griya Sapu Lidi Garbage Bank; Anak Agung Istri Tatik Rismayanti from the Bali Environmental Education Center; and moderated by Fina Itriyati, Deputy Dean of FISIPOL. read more
