FISIPOL UGM Facilitates the Implementation of UM UGM CBT 2025

Yogyakarta, July 2, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at Universitas Gadjah Mada once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the student admission process by serving as one of the official venues for the Universitas Gadjah Mada Entrance Examination (UM UGM) Computer-Based Test (CBT) 2025. The examination took place over four days, from July 2 to 5, 2025.

As one of the designated test centers in Yogyakarta, FISIPOL UGM provided two venues—the Auditorium on the 4th Floor and the East Seminar Room—which were optimally prepared to ensure a smooth testing process. The exam was conducted in two daily sessions: the morning session from 07:30 to 11:45 WIB, and the afternoon session from 13:00 to 17:15 WIB. On Friday, the afternoon session was held from 13:45 to 17:00 WIB. read more

FISIPOL UGM Revitalizes Digilib Cafe with a Fresh Look

Yogyakarta, July 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at Universitas Gadjah Mada is undergoing a major renovation of Digilib Cafe, a creative space that has been part of the campus ecosystem since its establishment in 2017. The renovation, which began at the end of 2024, has now reached its halfway point, marked by the completion of the new front façade as the first step in the comprehensive transformation of the area.

The next phase will focus on interior design, landscaping of green spaces, and finalizing the cafe’s management system, which is expected to become a new gathering point for students. The revitalization of Digilib Cafe is intended not only as a supporting facility but also as a living space that fosters an inclusive and collaborative academic atmosphere. read more

Observing Strategies to Strengthen MSMEs, MAP Students Conduct Field Trip to Magelang

Magelang, June 24, 2025 — Students of the Magister Public Administration Affirmation Program (MAP) at Universitas Gadjah Mada undertook a field trip to Magelang Regency as part of a learning process connecting theory with practical public policy implementation. The activity, held from June 23–24, involved scholarship recipients from various local government institutions across Indonesia and focused on strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as pillars of the local economy and job creation. read more

Building Camaraderie through FISIPIT Group Cycling

Amid a busy campus schedule, FISIPIT once again fostered a warm and friendly atmosphere through its Gowes Bareng (Group Cycling) event held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This regularly organized activity is not only a casual sports gathering but also strengthens relationships among the FISIPOL UGM academic community, including lecturers, administrative staff, students, and retirees.

Embodying the spirit of togetherness and a healthy lifestyle, the cycling group set off from the PPKK FISIPOL UGM courtyard at 6:00 a.m., heading to the residence of one of the staff members. Participants, wearing their distinctive FISIPIT jerseys, enthusiastically enjoyed the route while chatting and sharing stories during the ride. read more

FISIPOL UGM Lecturers Encourage Students to Master Academic Writing Early

Yogyakarta, July 2025 — Writing academic journal articles is not only a requirement for aspiring lecturers or researchers but also a crucial foundation for developing critical thinking skills and constructing systematic arguments. This was emphasized by Indri Dwi Apriliyanti, a lecturer at the Department of Management and Public Policy (MKP) FISIPOL UGM, during a knowledge-sharing session on the importance of academic writing skills for students across disciplines.

In her presentation, Dr. Indri highlighted that many students still question the relevance of journal writing, especially if they do not plan to pursue an academic career. However, she argued that academic writing skills provide long-term benefits across professions. “Writing trains us to think systematically, build data-driven arguments, and communicate ideas clearly to an audience,” she explained. read more

Explore Strategies for Strengthening MSMEs, UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (MAP) Students Visit Magelang Regency Government

Magelang, June 24, 2025─Master of Public Administration (MAP) students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, conducted a field visit to Magelang Regency on June 23–24, 2025. This visit was organized to explore further strategies for strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a pillar of the local economy.

The field study is an integral part of the MAP FISIPOL UGM Karyasiswa program, specifically the Bappenas Affirmation program. In addition to exploring course material in greater depth, this activity aims to enhance understanding, foster direct experience, and promote collaboration with various stakeholders to promote people-centered economic development, as committed to Sustainable Development Goals 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Fisipol UGM Student of UGM’s KKN Programme Alongside the Government Accompanies Institutionalization of MSME In Order to Support the Economic Independence of the Local Population

Kulon Progo, 17th of August 2024—Students of Fisipol UGM alongside Sarayu Samigaluh, the KKN-PPM Team of the 2nd Period of 2024, carried out group organizing activities and the creation of a management board for MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the village of Banjarsari, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. This activity is a collaboration between MSME, the local government of the village of Banjarsari, Kulon Progo Regency Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin), and Sarayu Samigaluh.  read more

Social Development and Welfare (PSdK) Fisipol Students Successfully Win 1st Place in the National OIKN Debate Competition in the Field of Environment

Yogyakarta, July 13th 2024–Ana Kaporina Saharina, a student of the Department of Social Development and Welfare (PSdK) Fisipol UGM succeeded in winning 1st place in the National Student Debate in the Field of Environment organized by the National Capital Authority (Otorita Ibu Kota Negara/ OIKN) in 2024. Ana and her team, Hasan Adi Nugrah (Cartography and Remote Sensing, Faculty of Geography) and Razif Raihan Rasyid (Animal Science and Industry, Faculty of Animal Science) managed to bring home the champions after struggling throughout the competition process from 17 May to 14 June 2024. read more

Family Wellness Fisipol Is Ready to Support the Productivity of Civitas Academica and Children’s Development

Yogyakarta, July 13th 2024—Fisipol UGM supports the creation of an environment which supports the well-being of its Civitas Academica by providing the Family Wellness service. The Family Wellness service, which was formed from the 2nd of June 2022, is a co-parenting facility that is provided from the faculty for the Civitas Academica of Fisipol UGM who has preschool-age children (kindergarten).

“The daily activities are designed to support the development of children in a holistic manner, as we highlight the physical, mental, emotional, social, and their cognitive aspects,” explained Dini Hariyani, as one of the managers of Family Wellness Fisipol. read more

Beware of Sexual Violence in the Campus Environment, FISIPOL Crisis Center Prepares Four Services

Yogyakarta, 13 July 2024–To prevent and deal with cases of sexual violence in the campus environment, the FISIPOL Crisis Center provides four services ranging from reporting to educational facilitators. The FISIPOL Crisis Center or FCC is a work unit under the Career Development Center (CDC) tasked with carrying out, coordinating, and/or monitoring efforts to prevent and recover cases of sexual violence on the FISIPOL UGM campus.

According to Arie Eka from the FCC Reporting and Services Division, four integrated services include case reporting, psychological assistance and recovery, legal counseling, and educational facilitators. This service is open to all FISIPOL academics as a manifestation of the 5th point of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Gender Equality because it seeks to eliminate discrimination in all forms of sexual violence. read more
