Creative Hub of FISIPOL UGM Held Business Innovation Event for Young People

Yogyakarta, September 8th 2022─Creative Hub of FISIPOL UGM again held the Talent Pitching Batch 6 program. This event has reached the final stage which was held on Thursday (8/9) at the Digital Library Cafe of FISIPOLUGM. Six teams have been selected to advance to the final round and are ready to present their business ideas in front of the jury.

“On this CHub (Creative Hub) we have the earliest stage of incubation, where we have intensively assisted these partners for three months to be able to validate their business ideas so that they are ready to enter the market,” said Lisa Lindawati as Director of Creative Hub. She emphasized that the most important thing in this program is not the competition, but how bright ideas are not only based on creative thinking but must also be executed properly. read more

Diffusion #78 of CfDS Discusses Digital Security and Digital Hygiene

Yogyakarta, September 8th 2022Digital Future Discussion (Difussion) was held for the 78th time by the Center for Digital Society (CfDS) of FISIPOL UGM on Thursday (8/9) online. In accordance with the title “Rooted in Security Basics: Digital Hygiene to Avoid Cyber ​​Attack”, this event discussed digital security and presented two speakers, namely Ismail Hakim as the founder of Cyberkarta, and Irnasya Shafira as a CfDS researcher and moderated by Rizka Herdiani who is also a CfDS researcher. read more

NGO Fair 2022 is Back to Raise Students’ Volunteering Spirit

Yogyakarta, September 7th 2022─Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Fair 2022 is back on Wednesday (7/9) after a hiatus throughout the pandemic era. The event that was held by the Australian Consortium in Country Indonesia Studies (ACICIS) with the Global Engagement Office (GEO) Fisipol was filled with domestic and international students.

NGO Fair 2022 invited several non-governmental organizations in Yogyakarta to promote their program. “We invite several organizations, research centers, and non-governmental organizations to come, with the hopes that students can find the organization that they see fit, specifically for those who like volunteering or doing internships,” said Dhani Karuniawan as the ACICIS Program Coordinator. NGO Fair is not only a place for students to find their volunteering and internship place, it is also a place to introduce many activism movements in Indonesia. One example of them is the orangutan conservation movement, an endangered animal that is often hunted. This organization invites the student to know the importance of preserving the wildlife through socializations and brochures written in two languages. There are also movements to educate and protect sexual violence victims, introduction of village self sufficiency and products, as well as the protection and empowerment of children in underdeveloped regions. read more

The Relaunch of the Shared Secretariat and Fisipoint in Welcoming the Start of Offline Activities

Yogyakarta, September 5th 2022—The Faculty of Social and Political Science held a relaunch of the Shared Secretariat and Fisipoint on Monday (5/9). The event was held offline and was attended by the dean’s staff, the department staff, student representatives, as well as Fisipoint’s seller representative. Dr. Wawan Mas’udi as the Dean of Fisipol UGM gave a welcoming remark which was closed with a symbolical potong tumpeng by the audience.

“There is more activity in Fisipol UGM. More students’ forums are emerging. I think that it’s the faculty’s responsibility to accommodate these forums by giving them their own space. That is why we re-opened the shared secretariat.” said Wawan Mas’udi. The creation of the shared secretariat was a product of collaboration with students. Through the reopening of this place, it is hoped that students can develop forums that not only delve into political issues but also financial education, culture, etc. read more

Fisipol UGM CfDS, Ministry of Information, Meta, and and Hacktiv8 Collaborate to Develop Indonesia’s Digital Talent Potential

Bali, September 3rd  2022─Fisipol UGM’s Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is back with Digital Expert Talk #16 with the title “Creative Youngsters: The Use of Augmented Reality (AR) in the Creative Industry”. This time, the event is held offline in Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nasi Dua, Bali on Saturday (3/9). This event is also live streamed through CfDS Fisipol UGM social media channels. 

The collaboration between CfDS and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Meta, as well as Hacktiv8 is done to support G20’sDigital Economy Working Group Meeting (DEWG) through the Digital Innovation Networks (DIN) forum. In line with the title, this event talked about the potential of using Augmented Reality (AR) in developing the economy. The speakers invited are experts in the area; Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan as the Director General of Informatics Applications and Governance in the Ministry of Communication and Information; Noudhy Valdryno as Indonesia and Timor Leste’s Manager of Public Policy; Sindy Tia Ulfa as the Founder of BikinFilter & Metavolution Program Alumni; Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto as the Director of Informatics Development in the Ministry of Communication and Information; with Treviliana Eka Putri as the moderator and the Secretary Executive of CfDS. read more

Ria Putri Palupijati, the author of ‘Membaca Tamansiswa dari Dekat (Budaya Organisasi di Tamansiswa)’, was here to explain the contents of her book. Sri Ratna Saktimulya, Head of UGM Center for Cultural Studies; Tri Suparyanto, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa; and Ario Wicaksono, lecturer of DMKP FISIPOL UGM were present as responders. read more

Digital Expert Talks #15 Talks About the Challenges of SPBE Implementation in Indonesia Public Service

Yogyakarta, August 30th 2022─Fisipol UGM Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is back with Digital Experts Talk #15 titled “Managing Electronic Based Public Service in the Middle of The Pandemic” online on Tuesday (30/8). The event was a collaboration between CfDS and Google Cloud which invited speakers such as Aris Kurniawan, the Head of the Innovation, Development, and Harmonization of SPBE Service and Application Division; Setiaji, Chief of  DTO in Indonesia’s Ministry of Health; Sayuri Egravanda, a part of Jogja Smart Province team; Nanang Ruswianto, the Coordinator of UGM SPBE Evaluator Team; and Eryan Ariobowo, Customer Solutions Consultant in Google Cloud Public Sector; as well as Anisa Pratita as the moderator of the discussion and the researcher of CfDS Fisipol UGM.  read more

The Collaboration of CfDS Fisipol UGM, Fisipol UGM Master of Communication Studies, and PR2Media in Mapping Digital Fraud in Indonesia

Yogyakarta, August 24th 2022─FISIPOL UGM Center for Digital Society (CfDS) withFisipol UGM Master of Communication Studies as well as PR2Media collaborated in the National Research of Digital Fraud in Indonesia: Mode, Medium, and Recommendation. The research was supported by Whatsapp Indonesia and resulted in a research finding book which was launched in the webinar event held online on Wednesday (24/8).

The webinar was attended by the Dean of Fisipol UGM, Wawan Mas’udi, and plenty of other speakers; Novi Kurnia as the head of the research team, Junico BP Siahaan, Aju Widyasari, Rofi Uddarojat, Nico Siahaan, EDD who is the victim of online fraud, and Engelbertus Wendratama as a researcher in PR2Media and the moderator of the talk show.  read more

DPP FISIPOL UGM Held a Dissemination of Research Findings in Collaboration with KU Leuven

Yogyakarta, August 22nd 2022—The Department of Politics and Government of UGM Faculty of Social and Political Science (DPP FISIPOL UGM) held a public discussion on Monday (22/8). The public discussion was titled “The Two Sides of Diversity in School: Reflections on Tolerance and the Perception of Harmony Amongst Educators in Indonesia” which was created to disseminate the findings of the research made by DPP Fisipol UGM and KU Leuven. The three researchers that presented their findings were Sari Oktafiana, Ph. D Candidate at Centre for Research on Peace and Development (CRPD) KU Leuven; Anton Abdul, Candidate at CRPD KU Leuven; and Asep Mulyana, Doctoral Candidate in DPP UGM Political Science. read more
