Department of Politics and Government Fisipol UGM Hosts Visit from Musamus University Merauke

Yogyakarta, July 20, 2026—The Department of Politics and Government (DPP) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UGM hosted a visit today (July 20) from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Musamus Merauke in Room BA 412, Fisipol UGM. The visit was organized to provide guidance on accreditation management for the Social Development and Political Science study programs at Musamus University Merauke.

Attendees included representatives from DPP Fisipol UGM—Dr. rer. pol. Mada Sukmajati, Dr. Joash Elisha Stephen Tapiheru, and Alfath Bagus Panuntun El Nur Indonesia, M.A.—along with the Fisipol UGM Quality Assurance Unit team and representatives from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Musamus University Merauke.

Opening the discussion, Umiyati Haris, Secretary of the Political Science Study Program at Musamus University, noted that the Political Science program currently holds provisional accreditation and is about to undergo its initial accreditation process.

In response, Dr. rer. pol. Mada Sukmajati explained that the latest LAMPSPAK accreditation cycle would utilize the “2.0 standard,” although there are no significant differences regarding the number of indicators and assessment criteria.

“For the initial accreditation, only an adequacy assessment is required; this involves evaluating the submitted documents, specifically the FED (Self-Evaluation Form).”

In addition to guidance on accreditation management, Musamus University will also engage in discussions with Fisipol UGM regarding curriculum restructuring for the Social Development and Political Science study programs, with activities continuing until next Thursday.
