Fisipol UGM Alumni Association (KAFISPOLGAMA) Reunites Through the Class of 1991’s 35th Anniversary Reunion

Yogyakarta, July 13, 2026─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again became a historic gathering point for its alumni. On Saturday (11/7) and Sunday (12/7), the class of 1991 alumni returned to their beloved campus to celebrate the “35th Anniversary Reunion of FISIPOL UGM 91,” carrying the main theme “Reunite, Serve & Share for Our FISIPOL!” (Bersatu Kembali, Mengabdi & Berbagi untuk FISIPOL Kita!).

The series of events on the first day focused on strengthening cultural bonds and camaraderie. Following the registration session, the festivities opened with the “Kirab Bregodo” (Bregodo Parade) in the afternoon. The participants’ use of traditional attire based on the Gagrak Yogyakarta concept served as a symbol of cultural representation deeply ingrained among UGM alumni. The agenda continued with a group photo session and the release of three balloons from each department, creating a memorable visual before participants were directed to a break session.

The peak of camaraderie on the first day concluded with an Intimate Dinner & Familiarity Night held directly at Sansiro Park, FISIPOL UGM, lasting into the night. This session was enlivened by a musical performance from Nol KM Kustik, a casual discussion titled “Ngobras 91,” as well as the screening of a commemorative video that successfully evoked the collective memories of their college days decades ago.

Entering the second day, Sunday (12/7), the orientation of the activities shifted towards physical health and social sensitivity. Since morning, the participants appeared casual, wearing special reunion t-shirts as they held the UGM Nostalgic Fun Walk. The route for this healthy walk was designed to trace various iconic spots around the UGM campus. This agenda was not merely a morning exercise, but a reenactment of their footsteps during their dynamic days as students.

Going beyond a mere internal celebration, the event also highlighted the social commitment of the class of ’91. Through the “FISIPOL 91 Cares – Charity Event” session, the alumni organized a fundraising campaign accompanied by an art appreciation performance in the form of a Balinese Dance. This step proved that the alumni’s spirit of brotherhood does not revolve solely around group nostalgia but also expands into a concrete manifestation of care for others.

This 35th reunion officially closed with a group photo session within the faculty grounds. The entire execution of the event represented the manifesto “35 Years of Friendship, One FISIPOL Soul” (35 Tahun Persahabatan, Satu Jiwa FISIPOL). It is hoped that the solidarity shown by the class of ’91 alumni will not stop at the celebration but will serve as an inspiration for the current FISIPOL academic community and students to continue maintaining social bonds and consistently creating a positive impact on the broader society.
