Yogyakarta, July 27, 2026—The Department of International Relations (HI) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UGM, is hosting the “Atrocity Prevention 2026” Short Course in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect, the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (University of Queensland, Australia), UIN Jakarta, and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). This collaborative program runs from July 20 to July 30, 2026, having commenced with an online segment held from July 20 to July 23, 2026.
Meanwhile, the in-person activities began today (July 27) in the Dean’s Meeting Room with a “Publication Workshop.” In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Poppy Sulistyaning Winanti outlined the long-term goals of this series of events, stating, “I believe this series of joint academic activities is not merely about publications or conferences; it is also about building further connections with various institutions that have similar flagship programs.”
She also emphasized that this agenda serves as an excellent opportunity not only to reconnect with the community but also to expand collaborations and engage in joint publications.
