Making Sustainable Opportunity during Post Covid-19 Recovery

Yogyakarta, October 9th 2021─PSdK’s 64th dies natalis celebration ended with a webinar session titled “Making Sustainable Opportunity during Post Covid-19 Recover” on Saturday (09/10). The event was attended by Sigit Reliantoro, M.Sc. as the Plt. Director General of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, who gave the keynote speech to open the webinar. The webinar also invited five speakers which are Prof. Dr. H.Nelson Pomalingo as the Regent of Gorontalo; Yudi Nugraha as the Manager Relation of Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional 1 Sumatera; Dina Mariana, M. H. as the representative of a senior researcher in the Research and Empowerment Institute; and two PSdK lecturers which are Bahrudin, Ph. D. and Milda L. Pinem, Ph.D. The webinar was done via zoom and youtube. Generally, the talk was about the opportunities for sustainable development during the covid-19 recovery period in Indonesia. 

After the opening and remarks session, the webinar was opened by a keynote speech from Sigit Reliantoro, M.Sc. He said that the PSdK department has been the partner of KLHK for a long time. The theme raised in the 64th dies natalis celebration is in line with Indonesia’s future appointment as the next G-20 president. The seminar is hoped to contribute to the discussion about environmental issues and Indonesia’s development. Hence, Indonesia can be an exemplary G-20 leader in the aspect of sustainable development. 

During the main event, the discussion was moderated by Milda L.Pinem, Ph.D. The first talk was given by the Head of Gorontalo’s Development Planning Agency at the Sub-National Level who represented the Regent of Gorontalo to talk about the impact of Covid-19 in Gorontalo and the local government’s strategy to create a sustainable development. Then, Yudi Nugraha as the representative of the private sector talked about the impact of Covid-19 towards businesses as well as their strategy in creating a sustainable development. The talk was followed by Dina Mariana who talked about the impact of the pandemic towards community empowerment in creating a sustainable development. Finally, the representative of the academic sphere, Bahruddin Ph, D, talked about the key concepts in sustainable development.
