Yogyakarta, March 9, 2026—The Sejahtera Bersama Sospol Cooperative held its Annual Members Meeting for the 2025 fiscal year on Monday (March 9) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Auditorium, Gadjah Mada University (UGM). As an implementation of the cooperative’s value of equality, the Annual Members Meeting invited all members to attend and share their opinions on the future of the cooperative. Furthermore, discussions, ranging from implementation results, plans, and oversight, were openly presented to all cooperative members.Wawan Mas’udi, advisor to the Sejahtera Bersama Sospol Cooperative, stated, “Cooperative membership is equal; there are no lecturers, no tenders, no seniors or juniors. The principle of cooperatives is equality and equality of members. Therefore, we ask that everyone share their ideas for the future development of the cooperative,” he said.

Yogyakarta, March 6, 2026 ─ The Undergraduate Program in Social Development and Welfare (PSdK) of UGM conducted its LAMSPAK Field Accreditation Assessment on Friday (March 5). The series of activities took place in the Dean’s Meeting Room of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of UGM and will continue in the PSdK Meeting Room. The assessment was attended by the assessor team, deans, department and study program leaders, lecturers, quality assurance units, student representatives, alumni, and users. The event was officially opened by the Dean of FISIPOL UGM, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi. In his remarks, Wawan emphasized that this accreditation assessment is a crucial opportunity to map potential and evaluate the study program’s governance. “This is an effort to uncover the study program’s strengths. If there is anything that needs to be developed in terms of documentation during the assessment process, it will be addressed,” Wawan said. Representatives from the assessment team conveyed that this event served as a dialogue and exploration of the experiences of study program and faculty managers in governance and quality assurance systems at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Yogyakarta, March 4, 2026 — The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), held an online open guest lecture entitled “The World of Phenomenology from Schutz’s Outlook” on Wednesday (March 4). This academic event featured Argentine phenomenologist Prof. Carlos Belvedere, a lecturer at the University of Buenos Aires, who examined phenomenology through the perspective of Alfred Schutz.In his presentation, Prof. Belvedere emphasized that his approach was not a study of the history of thought, but rather a reflection of the practice of phenomenology itself. “My perspective is not that of a historian, but that of a phenomenology practitioner,” he said. He then explored the concept of epoché and its significance in the development of science, inviting participants to reflect on the relationship between science and philosophy, and questioning whether the phenomenological perspective in scientific research is merely an application of philosophical ideas or a reflective foundation for the process of knowledge production.

The discussion, moderated by Delta Fera Apriani, an alumna of the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), was designed to enrich understanding of the theoretical foundations of modern sociology from a phenomenological perspective. The enthusiasm of the participants, consisting of students and academics, was evident in the interactive question-and-answer session, which deepened the dialogue between the speaker and the audience.

This guest lecture also reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 4 on Quality Education, by expanding access to global academic discourse through open and collaborative forums. Yogyakarta, February 13, 2026─The Center for Capacity Development and Cooperation (PPKK) FISIPOL UGM held the first batch of training on Compiling Government Agency Performance Reports (LKJIP) from February 10–13, 2026, in Yogyakarta. Participants came from North Kalimantan Province, Cianjur Regency, Rembang Regency, and Banjarbaru City.

The training was conducted using interactive methods. Participants not only listened to the material from the speakers but also engaged in brainstorming, simulations, and presentations. Participants conducted simulations and presentations on Performance Analysis Techniques, Presentation of LKJIP Documents, Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Follow-up to Performance Reports, and Simulation of Complete LKJIP. read more

Yogyakarta, February 12, 2026─The Center for Capacity Development and Cooperation (PPKK) FISIPOL UGM held the first training on preparing Regional Government Implementation Reports and Accountability Statements (LPPD and LKPJ) from February 9-12, 2026, in Yogyakarta. Participants from the Rembang and Muara Enim Regencies participated in this training.

The learning process was conducted using interactive methods. Participants not only listened to the material from the speakers but also engaged in brainstorming, simulations, and presentations. Participants conducted simulations and presentations related to the analysis and presentation of LPPD and LKPJ, as well as the evaluation and follow-up of LPPD and LKPJ. During the simulations, participants also processed and analyzed data using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the accuracy, effectiveness, and quality of report preparation. read more

Sleman, February 3, 2026─The UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) Capacity Development and Cooperation Center (PPKK), in collaboration with the Pakem Sub-district Government, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, conducted the Candibinangun Village Administrator Selection Test on Tuesday (February 3). This selection test was conducted to fill the positions of Carik, Bulus Kidul Hamlet, Pakisaji Hamlet, Baratan Hamlet, and Nepen Hamlet. The test took place at the Candibinangun Village Hall. The Soenario Kolopaking Team from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has won first place in the National Student Scientific Article Competition at the Sociology Competition of Unesa (SOCIUS) 2025, organized by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). The competition ran from June 10 to August 3, 2025, and was participated in by eight universities from across Indonesia.

The Soenario Kolopaking Team consists of Nurima Setianingrum and Afkaar Nabil Falah. Under the guidance of Gregorius Ragil Wibawanto, M.A., the team successfully presented their scientific paper titled “The Public Between the State and the Market: The Struggle of Female Online Ojek Drivers in Layered and Persistent Vulnerability.” read more
