Yogyakarta, August 14, 2026—The Department of Sociology Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UGM, in collaboration with Laboratorium Indonesia 2045, SOREC, the Nalar Institute, and Forum 2045, is hosting a discussion titled “Republic Panel: Crisis, Transition, and the Future of the Republic.” This strategic event is taking place today, Friday (August 14), at the Mandiri Auditorium (4th Floor, BB Building, Fisipol UGM) at 13:00 WIB.
Stemming from reflections ahead of the 81st anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, this event serves as a platform to address the interconnected dynamics of political, economic, and socio-technological change in Indonesia. The Republic Panel features Prof. Francisia Saveria Sika Ery Seda, Ph.D., a Professor at the University of Indonesia, as the keynote speaker via an online link. The discussion also includes a lineup of speakers from diverse backgrounds, including Jaleswari Pramodhawardani, M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Amalinda Savirani, S.IP., M.A., Dr. Andreas Budi Widyanta, S.Sos., M.A., Dhivana Anarchia Ria Lay, and Bintang Mesa.
Moderated by Wahid Nur Kartiko and Indah Lestari Saani, the discussion aims to formulate a direction for change and unpack the crucial agendas that must be prepared for Indonesia’s future.
