The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) was established on 1 January 2011.The “Forest and Climate Change (FOR-CC)” Project is part of the ASEAN-German Programme on Response to Climate Change (GAP-CC), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in close cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC).
The project supports ASEAN to improve its cooperation and common position on climate change related key topics in the forestry and agriculture sector. Major activities in the project include the support and coordination of the ASEAN Climate Resilience Network (ASEAN-CRN) and the promotion of climate smart agricultural practices in ASEAN member states.
RoleThe position will support the FOR-CC component on Climate Smart Value Chains on all matters of internal and external communications. She / he will work closely with the advisors in the component to ensure that the project communication is up to date, consistent and implemented effectively and efficiently.
Main Tasks The following main tasks are to be implemented by the position, in close cooperation with the project team, related projects or partners, as well as the communications department of the GIZ Office Indonesia.
Revision and up-date of existing communication materials like project briefs, thematic publications and the programme website Coordination of the development of new communication material for FOR-CC, GAP-CC or partner initiatives like the ASEAN-CRNEditing and layout of communication material Support thematic research for communication purposes.
Candidate Profile
- The candidate has experience on developing and managing communications material, preferably in the context of international development cooperation and in relation to natural resource management, climate change or sustainable agriculture.
- He / she is well-versed in communicating with people from different technical and cultural backgrounds, can work independently and puts high attention to detail.
The following qualifications are desired for the position:
- Enrolled in or completed a graduate program on communications, public relations, international relations or natural resource management
- Practical experience in working in communications through work experience or previous internships
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Affinity and experience to work with information technology and social media
- Experience in interacting in a multicultural environment
