Ria Putri Palupijati, the author of ‘Membaca Tamansiswa dari Dekat (Budaya Organisasi di Tamansiswa)’, was here to explain the contents of her book. Sri Ratna Saktimulya, Head of UGM Center for Cultural Studies; Tri Suparyanto, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa; and Ario Wicaksono, lecturer of DMKP FISIPOL UGM were present as responders.

Yogyakarta, August 30th 2022─Fisipol UGM Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is back with Digital Experts Talk #15 titled “Managing Electronic Based Public Service in the Middle of The Pandemic” online on Tuesday (30/8). The event was a collaboration between CfDS and Google Cloud which invited speakers such as Aris Kurniawan, the Head of the Innovation, Development, and Harmonization of SPBE Service and Application Division; Setiaji, Chief of DTO in Indonesia’s Ministry of Health; Sayuri Egravanda, a part of Jogja Smart Province team; Nanang Ruswianto, the Coordinator of UGM SPBE Evaluator Team; and Eryan Ariobowo, Customer Solutions Consultant in Google Cloud Public Sector; as well as Anisa Pratita as the moderator of the discussion and the researcher of CfDS Fisipol UGM.
The book entitled ‘G20 in the Midst of Big Change: Momentum of Indonesia’s Global Leadership?’, a result of collaboration between academics across fields of Universitas Gadjah Mada, has been published. Yogyakarta, 27 Agustus 2022—Agustinus Allan Porajow, a student in the Department of Politics and Government of Fisipol UGM, has many achievements in the business plan and innovation area. The title of the best speaker and best team was given to Allan and his team in the business plan and studentpreneur competition held by CIMB Semarang Bank, UGM’s Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Tanoto Foundation.
The business program plan by Allan and team is focused on social business and sustainable education. In the WeAble-Sustainable Work for All IDEAS Indonesia Studentpreneur 2022 event, he managed to create a startup that teaches and gives skill certification for disable people, especially people who are deaf. “Being deaf is actually not a weakness, but a different culture of communication. The difference is that we talk with voices, while they communicate with sign languages,” Allan said. He said that the competitions he joined have given him a lot of lessons and perspective to better himself.
Yogyakarta, August 24th 2022 – The Forbiling Institute with the Institute of Governance and Public Affairs (IGPA) or Fisipol UGM Masters Program launched a documentary titled “Pandai Me 2: Learning Loss” which premiered on August 19th, 2022. The movie talks about the impact of remote learning done throughout the pandemic.
By digging deeper into the anxiety of learning during the pandemic, this movie was able to show the portrait of learning loss or the hurdles of learning that causes several students to miss out on crucial learning experiences which causes them to lose academic progress. The plot in the movie focuses on the struggles of final year students in determining their choice in the future; whether they should continue with their studies or they should work. Dimas, a senior in high school, has a dream of studying architecture at UGM and he is willing to do anything to realize his dreams. He and his three friends – Anto, Dani, and Rio — promise to work hard together through the SBMPTN route. However, their hard work is met with challenges that cause a crack in their friendship.
Yogyakarta, August 24th 2022─FISIPOL UGM Center for Digital Society (CfDS) withFisipol UGM Master of Communication Studies as well as PR2Media collaborated in the National Research of Digital Fraud in Indonesia: Mode, Medium, and Recommendation. The research was supported by Whatsapp Indonesia and resulted in a research finding book which was launched in the webinar event held online on Wednesday (24/8).
The webinar was attended by the Dean of Fisipol UGM, Wawan Mas’udi, and plenty of other speakers; Novi Kurnia as the head of the research team, Junico BP Siahaan, Aju Widyasari, Rofi Uddarojat, Nico Siahaan, EDD who is the victim of online fraud, and Engelbertus Wendratama as a researcher in PR2Media and the moderator of the talk show.
Yogyakarta, August 22nd 2022—The Department of Politics and Government of UGM Faculty of Social and Political Science (DPP FISIPOL UGM) held a public discussion on Monday (22/8). The public discussion was titled “The Two Sides of Diversity in School: Reflections on Tolerance and the Perception of Harmony Amongst Educators in Indonesia” which was created to disseminate the findings of the research made by DPP Fisipol UGM and KU Leuven. The three researchers that presented their findings were Sari Oktafiana, Ph. D Candidate at Centre for Research on Peace and Development (CRPD) KU Leuven; Anton Abdul, Candidate at CRPD KU Leuven; and Asep Mulyana, Doctoral Candidate in DPP UGM Political Science.
Yogyakarta, August 20th 2022—SOPREMA on its seventh anniversary held a webinar titled: “SOPREMA Talk #1: Talking About Social Problems as a Young Sociepreneur Strategy of Innovation” on Sunday (20/8). This event was held through a hybrid scheme in Fisipol UGM’s Auditorium Room and was live streamed through Fisipol UGM’s Youtube account.
In SOPREMA Talk #1, the speakers invited were inspirational and experienced such as Janu Muhammad (Founder & CEO of Sayur Sleman) and Fano Alfian (Co-Founder of Ailesh Power). The event’s moderator was David Regiasmara (Youth Studies Centre Fisipol UGM).
Yogyakarta, 19th August 2022─The euphoria of welcoming the new students doesn’t just stop at the orientation period. Pekan Kebersamaan (lit. Togetherness Week) event, which will be held from 15-19 August 2022, is a place for the Fisipol Student Activity Unit (UKMF) and the Departmental Student Association (HMD) to introduce their organization to new students.
Pekan Kebersamaan is one of the programs of the Student Internal Development Division (PIM) of Dema Fisipol UGM. This program collaborates with the Student Resource Development Division (PSDM) and the Student Council (MM) Fisipol. This Week of Togetherness was attended by various UKMF and HMD who also enlivened the event through booths held at Sansiro Park. “The emergence of more UKMF from time to time proves that the creativity of Fisipol students is growing,” said the Dean of Fisipol UGM, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, S.IP., M.P.A who was met at one of the UKMF booths. In addition to being a promotional event for UKMF and HMD, the Student Council (Dema) as the organizer of the Pekan Kebersamaan also held a live show to introduce DEMA division programs, such as advocacy, scientific, and sign language classes.
