The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), once again held the Dean’s Hearing 2026, an open dialogue forum between students and the faculty leadership, on Wednesday (June 10). Held at the West Corridor of FISIPOL UGM, the event served as a platform for students to voice their aspirations, suggestions, and constructive feedback regarding various aspects of academic life and faculty governance.

The forum was attended by the Dean and members of the faculty leadership, faculty administrators, department representatives, as well as students representing various student organizations and communities within FISIPOL UGM. Yogyakarta, 8 June 2026─The Creative Hub of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), together with partners from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Leipzig, conducted an observation and mini-fieldwork study on waste management in RW 05, Terban Village, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta City.

Indonesia faces challenges in waste management, with a national waste production volume of 23.9 million metric tons per year, 65.45% of which remains poorly managed due to low community participation. The Terban area, located not far from the UGM campus, faces similar issues and was therefore selected as a living laboratory for circular economic transformation through the development of the Gebrak Sampah Ecosystem. read more

This facility is expected to serve as the primary gateway for the public to access a wide range of information about the campus, from academic activities to collaboration opportunities.

The FIC is designed as a reference information center to assist those wishing to learn more about FISIPOL UGM. The services offered are not limited to the academic community but are also open to the general public. School visits, external collaborations, or inquiries regarding FISIPOL UGM can be handled at the FIC. read more

Yogyakarta, June 5, 2026—Amidst the dynamic pace of academic life and the increasingly high demands of professionalism, mental health issues are often still marginalized. Responding to this urgency, the Ajisaka Festival 2026 of the Department of Communication Science, FISIPOL UGM, returned to present a reflective discussion space. This series of inspiring talk shows was held on Friday (05/06).

The talk show consisted of two sessions. The first session, which took place in the Auditorium on the 4th floor of FISIPOL UGM, discussed a reality deeply familiar to today’s younger generation: the crisis of mental exhaustion, or burnout. Bearing the title “When ‘Doing Your Best’ Feels Never Enough: How We Talk About Burnout Matters”, the discussion was guided by Kafka Vadanta as the moderator and featured Clinical Psychologist Gayatri Hutami Putri. Yogyakarta, June 4, 2026—The Election Organizers’ Honorary Council (DKPP), in collaboration with the Department of Politics and Government at Gadjah Mada University (DPP UGM), hosted a national seminar to discuss the integrity and ethics of election organizers.

Yogyakarta, June 2, 2026—The Doctoral Program in Political Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted a public lecture to discuss the book Understanding Jokowi: Progressive Realism in Indonesian Politics (2014–2024). The event marked the start of a two-day colloquium for doctoral students in Political Science at UGM.
