FISIPOL UGM Boost Student Comfort Through the Provision of Public Facilities: Fisipmart, Fisipoint, and Digilib Cafe

Yogyakarta, 17 April 2026─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) remains committed to creating a comfortable campus environment by providing public facilities such as Fisipmart, Fisipoint, and Digilib Cafe. The faculty recognizes that student needs extend beyond the dynamics of the classroom, positioning these three facilities at the heart of student activities.

The presence of these diverse facilities is specifically designed so that the academic community can practically meet their various needs without having to leave the campus area. One of the most relied-upon facilities is the Fisipoint Minimarket (Fisipmart). Adopting the concept of a modern convenience store or minimarket, Fisipmart serves as a one-stop solution for students’ daily needs. This facility offers a comprehensive display, ranging from snacks and flavored beverages to ready-to-eat packaged meals. Furthermore, Fisipmart also provides a variety of daily necessities such as stationery, medicines, masks, and much more. BSI FISIPOL UGM Prayer Room: A Prayer Facility Amidst Busy Lectures

Yogyakarta, April 14, 2026—The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), provides a prayer room to meet the worship needs of the campus community. The BSI Fisipol prayer room, inaugurated in 2015 through a collaboration between the faculty and Islamic banking, serves as a place for prayer between classes.

The prayer room features clean, regularly maintained carpet, with a partition separating the prayer areas for men and women. Prayer equipment, such as prayer robes (mukena), sarongs, and prayer mats, is available in a special cupboard and is free for anyone to use. The prayer room is equipped with two separate ablution areas for men and women. Each area has several running water faucets and small seating areas, making it easier for the congregation, especially when prayer times are close to class changes. One important facility provided is a locker for storing belongings. Students, faculty, or staff carrying bags, books, or valuables can safely store them before performing prayers. read more

FISIPOL UGM Wellness Center, a Real-Life Manifestation of a Health-Care Campus

Yogyakarta, April 13, 2026—The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), provides a Wellness Center, a free health screening facility for the entire academic community.

Physical health is a key foundation that influences one’s productivity. For the academic community, the quality of health will significantly influence the teaching and learning process, research, and public service delivery. Increasing Health Awareness, Wellness Center HPU FISIPOL UGM Holds Health Check-up with Tegal Barep Villagers

Yogyakarta, April 11, 2026─The Wellness Center of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has successfully carried out a community service program entitled “Health Check with the Wellness Center of HPU FISIPOL UGM in Celebration of Gempur’s 27th Anniversary.” This program was held on Saturday (11/4) in Tegal Barep, Bulak Salak RT 03 RW 46, Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Not only came as participants in the health check-up, local residents, alongside village officials and the youth organization (karang taruna), worked hand in hand to ensure the success of this event. Everyone, from children and pregnant women to the elderly, welcomed the activity enthusiastically, as demonstrated by their punctual arrival at the location and orderly participation in the series of events. This event brought in expert health professionals directly from the Universitas Gadjah Mada Academic Hospital (RSA UGM), as well as service officers from the Wellness Center HPU FISIPOL UGM, to conduct the examinations. read more

The Enthusiasm of FISIPOL UGM Students for the Free Breakfast Program During the 2025/2026 Midterm Exams

Yogyakarta, April 9, 2026─The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), has once again presented the “FISIPOL Free Breakfast” program as a form of support for students during the 2025/2026 midterm exams period. The program is held every morning starting at 06:30 AM in the east corridor of FISIPOL UGM, specifically around the Security, Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency, and Environment Office (K5L). This initiative has been running for almost a decade since it was first held in 2017, making it a pioneer in providing free breakfast for students within the academic environment. read more

FISIPOL UGM Holds Syawalan 1447 H, Calls for Strengthening Ukhuwah Insaniah in Facing the Polycrisis

Yogyakarta, April 2, 2026 ─ The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again held its annual gathering, Syawalan 1 Syawal 1447 H, on Thursday (2/4). Taking place at the West Hall of FISIPOL UGM, the event, which started at 10.00 AM WIB, raised a central theme highly relevant to current global dynamics: “Strengthening Ukhuwah Insaniah in Facing the Polycrisis”. From Crisis to Reform: FISIPOL UGM Lecturer Reveals Mechanisms of Change in the Indonesian Healthcare System

A lecturer from the Social Development and Welfare Study Program (PSdK), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), Tauchid Komara Yuda, has further strengthened his academic contribution at the international level with a new publication addressing strategic issues of healthcare system reform in Indonesia. Together with Stefan Kühner, he authored the article “Between Crisis and Reform: Developing a Causal Mechanism of Indonesian Healthcare Reform with Process Tracing.” The paper offers an in‑depth perspective on how crisis dynamics and political processes are intertwined in driving social policy change. This publication demonstrates his consistent scholarly contribution to enriching public policy discourse while emphasizing his role as an academic actively bridging theoretical analysis with real‑world policy in Indonesia.  read more

Strengthening the Relationships of the Academic Community through Breaking the Fast Together within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM 

Yogyakarta, March 9, 2026—In the spirit of Ramadan, lecturers, educational staff, and students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a breaking-the-fast together on Monday (March 9).

This breaking-the-fast event was not only intended to break the fast, but also served as a moment of togetherness for the FISIPOL UGM community. The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Wawan Mas’udi, stated, “Of course, our breaking-the-fast together today is not solely to break the fast, as the main purpose of breaking the fast is to break the fast. But more than that, it is to strengthen the bonds of friendship among all members of FISIPOL UGM,” he said. Sejahtera Bersama Sospol Cooperative Holds Annual Members Meeting: Deliberation on the Cooperative’s Future

Yogyakarta, March 9, 2026—The Sejahtera Bersama Sospol Cooperative held its Annual Members Meeting for the 2025 fiscal year on Monday (March 9) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Auditorium, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

As an expression of the cooperative’s value of equality, the Annual Members Meeting (AGM) invited all members to attend and share their views on the cooperative’s future. Furthermore, discussions, including implementation results, plans, and oversight, were openly presented to all cooperative members. Wawan Mas’udi, advisor to the Sejahtera Bersama Sospol Cooperative, stated, “Cooperative membership is equal; there are no lecturers, no tenders, no seniors or juniors. The principle of cooperatives is equality among members. Therefore, we ask that everyone share their ideas for the future development of the cooperative,” he said. read more

Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) UGM Assists Ngudi Hasil Piyungan Women’s Farmers Group in Developing Aloe Vera Products

Yogyakarta, January 23, 2026—As an effort to encourage socio-economic empowerment of residents in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Department of Public Policy and Management (DPPM), has again deployed a community service team to Karanganom Hamlet, Sitimulyo Village, Piyungan District, Bantul Regency. For this activity, the DPPM Team partnered with the Ngudi Hasil Women’s Farmers Group (KWT) in a collaborative initiative involving lecturers and students from various levels, from Bachelor’s (S1), Master’s (S2), to Doctoral (S3).
